Come on over to Walter A. Wood Memorial Park in Hoosick Falls and check out all the antique and vintage tractors, horse-drawn farm equipment and implements, and contemporary machinery that will be on display from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
When he purchased the building across the street from Cumberland Farms, he immediately thought of bringing the indoor golf facility to Route 4 (which he emphasized all major retailers are attempting to get a spot on).
Two “VIP” rooms with private space and a big screen TV can be rented out for parties unrelated to the club-and-ball sport (like viewing a UFC fight or watching a football game, Noel added).
On nice days, the large garage doors will be folded up to convert the bar into an outdoor deck. The full dining room, complete with a fireplace, offers a menu of bar favorites such as flatbreads, handhelds and golf-inspired desserts (see “range balls”).
That’s how it was for Krispy Kreme, The Fresh Market, The Cheesecake Factory, Trader Joe’s — even for Sonic, of all places. So it will certainly be that way for Chick-fil-A. The chain, after all, is the most popular restaurant in the country, according to the American Customer Satisfaction Index. It’s now the nation’s third-biggest restaurant by annual sales, even
The company was founded by friends Troy Miller, owner/ broker of CM Fox Real Estate, and Burl McCutcheon due to their desire to open an indoor golf experience
though it has significantly fewer locations than many of its competitors. It’s the envy of the industry. And nearly everywhere the Georgia-based chain goes, it generates borderline insanity. If history is any guide, we will not be an exception.
That is among the reasons for its popularity but also for lingering controversies.

A certain chicken chain is set to open in Rensselaer County in a few months, and it doesn’t take Nostradamus to know that there will be traffic jams, long lines and, among some, an excitement just shy of euphoria. This is our way. This region welcomes homogenizing national chains with frenzied arms.
“didn’t believe in using the business as a soapbox for its faith. But he did want Chick-fil-A to be reflective of his faith.”
The Walter A. Wood Reaping and Mowing Company manufactured horse-drawn farm equipment right here in our village from 1865 to 1924, and sold machinery to farmers in Hoosick and as far away as the Middle East and Russia!

Passengers wait in line at Chick- l-A at the Albany International Airport. The Georgia-based fast-food chain is the most popular restaurant in the country, according to the American Customer Satisfaction Index.

And there it is, the other thing that makes Chick-fil-A distinctive. Famously closed on Sunday, the restaurant is one of the few giants of American capitalism that openly serves something greater than the almighty dollar. It is an explicitly Christian business.
The company was a big deal…world famous! It was Wood’s company that made Hoosick Falls a boomtown in the 19th century; so big that it made
I don’t think it’s the food. I mean, I’m no restaurant critic, but in visits to Chick-fil-A locations over the years, I’ve never found the meals to be particularly special — certainly not wait-in-line-for-an-hour special.

“We were like, ‘wow this place is really gorgeous and posh,” Noel said.
Noel, who also owns North Greenbush’s 16 Handles and the Ivy Spa, describes the spot as a “super fancy, swanky indoorwithplacegolfhigh-end drinks and food.” A golf lover himself, he said he was attracted to the company after visiting the Guilderland location with friends for his birthday.
The Bunker, an indoor golf simulator and entertainment lounge, is opening a third location this fall in North Greenbush.

That’s a matter of personal taste, of course. But still, Chick-fil-A is selling fried chicken products, not rare culinary gems culled from distant caves. The heights can only be so high, and, yet, the lines. There are almost always long lines.
I asked Steve Robinson, a former executive vice president and chief marketing officer at Chickfil-A, for an explanation. He was more bullish on the food than I am, not surprisingly, but he also pointed to other factors, including the customer “Everybodyservice.deserves a great experience and to be treated with respect,” said Robinson, adding that Truett Cathy, the chain’s founder,
The Bunker, an indoor golf simulator and entertainment lounge, is opening a new location at 490 North Greenbush Road in the coming weeks. It will mark the third location in the Capital Region for the Guilderland-based company, which also has a spot in Clifton Park.
In a 2012 interview, Cathy was quoted as saying he believed in the “biblical definition of the family unit” — that marriage should only be between a man and a woman, essentially. That opinion was less controversial than it is now; President Barack Obama, for example, had twice been elected espousing much the same. But the perception that Chick-fil-A is anti-gay has continued, even as the company has tried to distance itself from the issue. In 2020 the chain, criticized for donations to
Unlike a traditional fairway, The Bunker draws in a more eclectic crowd with its seven Trackman simulation rooms. Building owner Scott Noel hopes the virtually-generated golf courses attract both avid golfers looking to practice their game and individuals with no experience ever swinging a club.
Tired of tee times in the rain, snow or bitter cold? Capital Region golfers now have another option for perfecting their putt even in harsh weather — and it includes a full-service bar and gourmet restaurant.

When Chick-fil-A opened its first Manhattan location seven years ago, some customers camped out overnight when it opened. Others waited in regular lines that stretched down the block for months. Even established Chick-fil-A locations are known to cause extended traffic back-ups, much to the consternation of local officials who sometimes grow to see the restaurant as a nuisance.Whatgives?
Why is Chick-fil-A so outlandishly popular?

of acne. The redness and soreness that occurs with acne is the result of inflammation.Acnehappens when hair follicles become blocked with oil and dead skin cells. As a result, whiteheads, blackheads or red pimples may form, says the Mayo Clinic. People who experience acne may suffer both emotional and physical effects. That’s because acne pimples are slow to go away, and when they do, new ones may form soon after. The visibility of acne can adversely affect self-esteem. However, acne also can cause scarring if lesions are picked at. That makes acne a potentially long-term physical issue.
Myths about what causes acne
The Mayo Clinic says acne may present itself in different ways.
Although chocolate and greasy foods are often cited as culprits behind acne, they have little effect. Researchers are studying if carbohydrate-rich foods such as chips, bread and bagels may worsen acne.
Acne affects people of all ages. Early treatment can head off the more lasting effects of acne and alleviate some of the issues regarding self-esteem that arise from having acne.
· Whiteheads: Closed, blocked pores.
In addition, individuals may develop nodules, which are large, solid painful lumps under the skin. Painful, pus-filled lumps under the skin are called cystic lesions.

Common Causes of Acne
· Pimples: Papules with pus in their tips.
Hormones are a major contributor to the formation of acne, but there are other things that people mistakenly think cause acne. Stress is one of them. The AAD reports that stress will not cause acne, but it may worsen existing acne. Research indicates that when stress levels go up, so does the severity of acne.
Genetics may contribute to acne. People whose parents had severe acne may be more likely to develop it, as will those who have excess sebum (oil) production. Certain medications, like corticosteroids, testosterone or lithium, also may cause the formation of acne.

That’s become easier over the last couple decades as manufacturers have recognized the growing number of consumers on gluten-free diets. However, the Celiac Disease Foundation® notes that various foods may contain gluten in hidden or unexpected ways. That underscores how important it is that individuals with celiac disease read labels prior to purchasing foods and beverages for the first time. Only beers labeled “gluten-free” are safe to drink for people with celiac disease.
