M86 Security Guarantees Safe Web surfing and Internet Use for Young Patients at St. Jansdal Hospital M86 Secure Web Gateway continues to provide Hospital with secure and safe Internet environment for long term admitted children and teenagers Amsterdam, Netherlands XX January 2011 M86 Security, the global expert in real-time Web and Email threat protection, today announced the extension of the previously donated M86 Secure Web Gateway (SWG) appliances to the Children and Teenagers Ward of St Jansdal Hospital in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Utilizing M86 Security’s patented Real-time Code-Analysis, the M86 SWG appliances will ensure ongoing safe Internet access for the seriously ill young patients in the Hospital’s Children and Teenagers Ward. “At St Jansdal Hospital, we encourage our young patients to use the Internet to stay in touch with their friends and family. It helps them to cope with their serious illnesses”, said the Head of the Children and Teenagers Ward of Hospital St Jansdal. ”Hospitalization often results in additional physical, social and psychological traumas. Safe communication means are therefore essential to distract their minds and help them keep in touch with their social circle. Since the M86 SWG solution, deployed at our hospital, has already proven to provide optimal protection to our network and employees, it was only logical that we asked M86 to also help us protect our young and vulnerable patients against malicious and undesirable Web content in the Ward.” “At M86, we pride ourselves as being the global expert in real-time threat protection. We offer technologies that secure organizations of all types, enabling them to access the Web safely and productively” said Diederik Klijn, Regional Sales Manager Benelux at M86 Security. “We know that at St Jansdal Hospital young patients enjoy the freedom the Internet offers such as accessing a range of Web 2.0 applications. By preventing unwanted content entering the network, we can protect the young patients from accessing potential dangerous and improper websites. Providing a safe and secure Internet environment is something we are very passionate about and that’s why we have extended our M86 SWG support for the young patients at St Jansdal.” The M86 SWG serves several computers that are separate from the main hospital network. These computers are for the sole use of the children and teenagers in the Ward and are separate from M86’s deployed solution on the Hospital’s network, where two redundant M86 SWG appliances, installed at the Internet gateway, support the Hospital’s employees in a high availability configuration. It features patented real-time code analysis technology to detect and block inbound and outbound, known and unknown malicious Web threats.
