Corporate HQ Interior Fit-Up Financial Institution // Latham, New York
CSArch teamed with Perkins and Will to provide the design of the interior fit-up on this 150,000 square foot office building in Latham, New York. The four-story building includes a modern lobby, cafeteria and kitchen space, support spaces, and three floors of office space with cellular and team rooms, conference rooms, and pantry spaces. To represent the four microclimates along the Hudson River from Albany to New York City, the color palettes, furniture and lighting of each floor were carefully selected and compliment the surrounding landscape. Open office spaces with adjustable stand-sit desks allow employees to work collaboratively in teams and provide maximum exposure to natural light. Cellular and team meeting spaces are centrally located on each office floor to allow for small meetings and private individual work. The use of floor-to-ceiling glass allows natural light to penetrate these inside spaces and promote transparency.

Each upper level incorporates a central pantry to encourage breaks and social interaction, with distinct color schemes representative of the microclimates of the four regions from Albany to New York City.
Laboratories and Corporate Offices
Chemical Manufacturing Company // Selkirk, New York Design services were provided to renovate original space within an existing building constructed in the eighties to create a showcase facility for international client, vendor, and employee relations. The original facility lacked proper lighting, modernized IT systems, a gracious lobby, and, most importantly, a modern, flexible work space to promote collaboration and innovative thinking.
Work included renovations to existing offices, conference rooms, training/seminar space, up-to-date research and testing labs, restroom facilities, and support space. Through a series of inclusive programming meetings with users, the design team reorganized space and provided a new entry, main lobby and seating area, café, mail room, pantry, and short-term docking stations for national and international visiting staff.

A MODERN WORK ENVIRONMENT The original facility lacked a modern, flexible work space to promote collaboration and innovative thinking. Glass walls and various meeting spaces promote openness and transparency, and a new café and break area supports employee health and wellness.
STATE OF THE ART LABORATORY A series of individual, outdated labs were demolished and a single, open versatile stateof-the-art lab was created to support global research and testing.
Bank Branch Renovations
Pioneer Bank // Various Locations, New York Beginning in 2013, CSArch renovated ten Pioneer Bank branches to reflect its re-invented image and shift toward a new banking concept. Consumers and clients can now shop, bank, and ship all in one location, and are immersed into a banking experience that improves the teller-client relationship. A full range of design services were provided by CSArch, including architecture, programming, interior design, furniture selection, and millwork design. The project team worked closely with contractors and bank leaders to design each banking component. A combination of solid surface materials, plastic laminates, LED lighting, ceramic floor tile, and interior glazing were used to transform Pioneer’s image while remaining sensitive to corporate branding standards.

PROGRAM Banking, Corporate Offices, Retail Space
CLIFTON PARK BRANCH OFFICE The new Clifton Park branch served as a pilot for Pioneer’s new banking concept - boutique banking. The branch introduced pod banking to move to a non-traditional, collaborative teller-client relationship, and features a coffee bar, retail area, and UPS packaging and shipping services.
DOWNTOWN ALBANY BRANCH OFFICE The relocated downtown Albany branch includes an open pod island with two stations to handle full-service transactions in the center of the space. An upstairs conference room resolves space concerns with floor-to-ceiling glass walls to provide transparency and openness.
SCHENECTADY BRANCH OFFICE Pioneer opened the Schenectady branch in 2015, which features the Capital Region’s first Interactive Teller Machine (ITM) technology. Glass-enclosed offices and large front windows make the narrow space feel larger, promoting employee health and well-being.
Corporate Office Interiors Pioneer Bank // Colonie, New York
Located prominently in the Town of Colonie, the four-story structure includes retail and commerce spaces along with a Pioneer Bank branch. Center for Advanced Technology
SCCC & Mohonasen CSD // Schenectady, New York The Center for Advanced Technology (CAT) is a new state-of-the-art building at Mohonasen Central School District. The approximately 53,000 square foot learning facility is home to a variety of modern, high-tech labs and classrooms that offer learning experiences in “real world” work environments. Existing through a partnership between Mohonasen Central School District, Schenectady County Community College, and Capital Region BOCES, the Center for Advanced Technology is a multi-user educational facility. Welcoming K12 students from more than 20 school districts in addition to college students and adult leaders, the facility aligns with the region’s priorities to build a skilled workforce pipeline for local industries.
The center houses Mohonasen’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs – a group of hands-on, project-based courses that combine classroom learning with real-world experiences – as well as some Capital Region BOCES CTE programs that brings in high school students from across the region. In the future, the facility will also be used for both credit-bearing and workforce development/adult education programs through local community colleges.

The facility and spaces within support different programs and offer an interdisciplinary, hands-on approach to learning that is integral to STEM education for traditional students and adult learners. The building includes an electric lab, a manufacturing and machining lab, a wood shop, a media arts lab, a high-end graphics computer lab, a nanotechnology lab with a simulated “clean room,” a welding lab, and health professions labs.
WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT Modern, specialized laboratories introduce students to collegiate and real-world work environments while meeting the multidisciplinary needs of college credit-bearing and workforce development programs. The Center for Advanced Technology at Mohonasen has the potential to truly change the career trajectory of many local high school, college, and adult learners.
CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION The CAT hosts four Career and Technical Education programs, as well as Mohonasen’s Mo-Tech — a group of hands-on, project-based courses that combine classroom learning with real-world experiences. The facility leads both credit-bearing and workforce development/ adult education programs through Schenectady County Community College.
