Lithium-Ion Batteries: Recent Advances and Future The special topic calls for papers on Lithium-Ion Batteries: Recent Advances and Future and such papers will appear in the journal Energy Science and Technology as a special column. Description The lithium-ion battery has evolved as the major power source ever since its discovery in 1991 by Sony and represents one

of the major successes of materials electrochemistry. Due to its high energy and power density, it is widely used in most of the portable electronics today. In view of the growing day to day demand for lithium-ion batteries, intensive research is being pursued globally to develop new high-performing cost-effective electrode and electrolyte materials without compromising environmental issues, however, many problems still remain unsolved such as the capacity retention, high temperature performance, calendar life, and the safety issue. In this special topic, we invite investigators to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that will stimulate the continuing efforts to understand the strategies for the development of electrode and electrolyte materials and the evaluation of their performance. We are particularly interested in articles describing the new modalities towards high-performing lithium-ion battery materials.

Requirements In addition to the Review and Original Articles by invited speakers, we are inviting you to submit a relevant research paper on Lithium-Ion Batteries: Recent Advances and Future for consideration. Papers will be subject to normal peer review and must comply with the Guide for Authors. To submit papers to the “Lithium-Ion Batteries: Recent Advances and Future” Special Topic, please go to http://www.cscanada.net. With your submission, please state clearly to the editor that your manuscripts are submitted to the Special Topic Lithium-Ion Batteries: Recent Advances and Future.
