Junior Year Grades are Important!
A+
When applying to colleges next year, your Junior year grades will be one of the most important aspects of your applications. Each school you apply to will only see the final grade you receive at the end of each course on your official transcript. (i.e. they will not see your grades from each quarter) Make sure to study up for your exams in the coming weeks, and start your second semester of Junior Year off on a strong foot!
1st Semester Exam Tip:
Try out the Pomodoro study method!
1. Choose one topic or class you will study for and decide how long you will need to study 2. Set a timer for 25 minutes and begin studying (Check out the website Pomodor for a pre-set timer!) 3. Make sure to minimize all distractions for those 25 minutes 4. After the 25 minutes is up, take a 5 minute relaxing break 5. Repeat 3 more times. After 4 rounds, take a 20 minute break!

Get your Crosby requirements done for Senior Year early!
Below are two requirements that you can get done THIS year, so you don't have to do them next year (when college things are much busier):
1. Community Service: Each Crosby Scholar is required to complete 5 hours of community service between their Junior or Senior year before January 2023. Check out Community Service opportunities here, and cross if off your to-do list early! Click here to submit your community service form. 2. College Fair/College Visit: Each Crosby Scholar is also required to complete 4 college visits (see next page of this newsletter for details). Start thinking about some schools you are interested in, and sign up for info sessions, campus tours, etc. (Most schools should have both virtual and in-person options!)
