FCA Let’s Go

Matthew 28:18-20

It

is my honor to welcome you to the second annual FCA Classic Car Show. I am John “Bootsie” Griggs, the Area Director of the Pee Dee Region of Fellowship of Christian Athletes in South Carolina. I am a native of Hartsville and in my 12th year serving as the Life Coach/ Team Chaplain for the Hartsville High School Red Fox Football program. I am a 1982 graduate of Hartsville High School and 1986 graduate of Newberry College, with a background of marketing and community relations with hospice. I am a very strong advocate for Embrace Hospice, who is one of our major sponsors and supporters of Pee Dee FCA. I am a minister of the gospel of Christ and an Ordained Elder minister with the Church of the Nazarene, Chaplain for Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center, and a Rotarian. My partner in ministry is my wife, Jenny Warr Griggs, who is the owner and operator of the Golden Comb Beauty and Tanning Salon. I am so very blessed and enjoy educating people about the benefits of hospice, how to become a financial supporter of FCA, spreading the gospel thru song and entertaining folks as an Ernest T. Bass impersonator. As the Pee Dee FCA Area Director my role is to develop the ministry plan for 7 counties: Chesterfield, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Marlboro, Marion and Williamsburg. I hired Daniel Henderson as the Area Representative to assist me in this ministry. Our goal together is to build awareness, and involvement of FCA, impacting lives for Jesus Christ, by investing in the lives of coaches Engaging, Equipping and Empowering them to lead a student lead ministry. I would like to take a moment to thank a very special group of people who are more than volunteers for this years’ car show, but people who believe in the FCA ministry of Jesus Christ. Please join me in thanking these wonderful friends and volunteers of ours. Jenny Griggs, Daniel Henderson, Christa Henderson, Jay Newsome, Stephanie Newsome, Wade Harris, Laura Harris, Scotty McAteer, Brigitte McAteer, Roy Harris, Earleen Harris, Jamie O’Neal, and our FCA Car Show mascots Alison Newsome and Logan “Meatball” McAteer for serving on this years’ car show committee. This show would not have been possible without these wonderful folks giving so much of themselves and time to make this FCA Car Show the greatest Show in Town! Thank-you so much!

I

In His Grasp,

Bootsie

am Daniel Henderson, the Pee Dee Area Representative for FCA. I came on board full time with the FCA Ministry in January 2017. Previously, I served as a Youth Pastor for 20 years here in SC. I am a graduate of McBee High School ’95 and North Greenville University ’01 with aa degree in Sports Management and Ordained in ’04 as minister of the gospel of Christ. My roles as the Area Representative are to build relationships with our Huddle Leaders, coaches and students through the Pee Dee area. In addition, I work with these leaders to resource them with materials that are needed for their school huddles. My wife, Christa and I have been married for 17 years and have two beautiful daughters. Triniti is finishing up 8th grade at Hartsville Middle School and Lili will be finishing up 2nd grade at Carolina Elementary School. I am very thankful for my family as well as the ministry we serve in together!

Daniel

T

he Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) continues to touch millions of lives…one heart at a time. Since 1954, FCA has been challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use the powerful platform of sport to reach every coach and every athlete with the transforming power of Jesus Christ. FCA focuses on serving local communities around the globe by engaging, equipping and empowering coaches and athletes to unite, inspire and change the world through the gospel.

FCA VISION - To see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of

coaches and athletes.

FCA MISSION - To lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus

Christ and His church.

FCA VALUES - Our relationships will demonstrate steadfast commitment to Jesus Christ

and His Word through Integrity, Serving, Teamwork and Excellence.

Integrity - We will demonstrate Christ-like wholeness, privately and publicly (Proverbs 11:3) Serving - We will model Jesus’ example of serving. (John 13:1-17) Teamwork - We will express our unity in Christ in all our relationships. (Philippians 2:1-4) Excellence - We will honor and glorify God in all we do. (Colossians 3:23-24)

STRATEGY

To and Through the Coach We pursue our vision and mission through the strategy of to and through the coach. We seek ministry first to coaches hearts, marriages and families. Then, when ready, we minister through coaches to their fellow coaches, teams and athlete leaders. Billy Graham said, “A coach will impact more people in one year than the average person will in an entire lifetime.” With the influence of a coach, FCA recognizes the most strategic way to reach more athletes is to first reach the coach.

METHODS

As FCA matures, we seek to make disciples through our methods of engaging, equipping and empowering coaches and athletes to know and grow in Christ and lead others to do the same.

Engage (1 Thessalonians 2:8) We engage relationally by connecting with individuals and through events in many different environments by building genuine trust, sharing our lives and sharing the gospel. We strive to connect with coaches and athletes where they are on their spiritual journey.

Equip (Ephesians 4:12) After cultivating relationships and once coaches and athletes come to faith in Christ, we want to equip them with Christ-centered training, events, resources and on-going support in what it means to be a follower of Christ, growing in God’s Word and applying it to life.

Empower (2 Timothy 2:2) Once equipped, we empower faithful leaders who desire to use their time, talents and treasures to help other coaches and athletes experience the gospel, grow in their faith and share Him with others. We desire to develop disciples who make disciples, assisting them so that they can in turn engage, equip and empower others to know and grow in Christ and lead others to do the same.

Anderson Brass Company (ABCO) is a family owned business located in Hartsville, South Carolina. Our modern manufacturing facility was built in 1982 and features state-of-the-art techniques from innovative design to efficient and low cost manufacturing. We pride ourselves in customer service and will insure that you talk to a qualified company employee and not a machine! At ABCO we focus on Technical Innovations, High Quality DOMESTIC Manufacturing, and Customer Responsiveness. For over 80 years ABCO has based its success on one aspect our people. According to company president, Robert C. Anderson, “The company considers the employees its most important asset and the primary reason for success”. Our beginning dates back to 1931 when R. C. Anderson first offered the KANTLEAK™ valves. His basic premise was to provide an inherently sound design, rooted in simplicity that would provide leak free service for a reasonable price. Today, with a third generation Anderson still leading the company, those same values are constantly being applied to every product built. The KANTLEAK™ concept has since grown to a complete line of instrumentation ball valves, needle valves, check valves, and even actuated valves. We are intent on advancing the stateof-the art in instrumentation valving and you can look to ABCO for innovative designs for years to come! Anderson Brass Company is moving forward with a new line of RV Water Service Panels. These new service panels are designed with low lead brass valves / manifolds. The new RV Water Service Panels are made in the USA, with a 5 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY and meet the NSF 61 requirements. All RV Water Service Panels have 1/2” (0.50”) Male NPT connections. Anderson Brass Company also has a new line of retrofit low lead brass RV Water Service Panels that allows you to replace your current plastic Anderson valve.
