WOMEN’S SOCCER The Vikings step out of league play and head to
Wright State at 7:00 p.m. on Friday (Oct. 14) and Butler at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 15). Last week, the Vikings earned three league wins on the road, defeating Green Bay, Valparaiso and UIC to improve to 13-5 overall and 6-1 in the league. CSU is a perfect 6-0 on the road in league play this year. Junior Kara Koch was tabbed the Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week for her performance.
Longwood for a 12:00 p.m. match on Saturday (Oct. 15) in CSU’s lone match of the week. CSU is 8-5-1 overall, just one win shy of tying the school record for most wins in a season. The Vikings split two matches last week, winning 1-0 at Butler on a Natalie Daniels goal and falling, 1-0, at Valparaiso.
MEN’S GOLF CSU concludes
MEN’S SOCCER Two wins helped Cleveland State climb closer to the .500 mark, improving its record to 5-6-1 overall and 2-1-1 in the Horizon League. The Vikings knocked off Pittsburgh, 1-0, in overtime on Wednesday thanks to a goal from Jordan Hart in the 95th minute. CSU then blasted Loyola, 4-0, on Saturday behind the first career hat trick from Aaron Adkins who earned Horizon League Player of the Week honors.
MEN’S TENNIS After taking a week
off from competition, the Vikings will participate in the ITA Midwest Regional. from Oct. 13-17 in Columbus, Ohio. Yannick Goossens and Ali Shabib lead CSU in singles action, as they both own a record of 6-4 through three tournaments this season. The duo also owns an 8-4 record in doubles play to lead the Vikings.

MIDNIGHT MADNESS ON OCT. 15 The official start of the 2011-12 basketball season will take place on Satur-
day, Oct. 15, when the men’s and women’s basketball programs host Midnight Madness in Woodling Gym. Midnight Madness will kick off with a Tailgate Party at 7:00 p.m. in front of Fenn Tower with food, games, giveaways, music and more. The event moves inside to Woodling Gym at 9:00 p.m. where the men’s and women’s basketball squads will be introduced for the first time this year. There will be thousands of dollars worth of giveaways, including Midnight Madness T-shirts, Viking basketball schedules, cups, posters, prizes and much more.

CROSS COUNTRY The Vikings will compete in the Penn State Na-
tional this Friday (Oct. 14) at 11:00 a.m. Last weekend, the Vikings finished second the Shawnee State Invitational, as three Vikings placed in the top-10. Allison Craine was CSU’s top finisher, placing sixth overall in 19:40 to earn her second straight Horizon League Runner of the Week honor.
Viking Of The Week KARA KOCH Volleyball
Last Week Koch led the Vikings to three Horizon League road wins last week, as CSU defeated Green Bay, Valparaiso and UIC. She combined for 43 kills and 48 digs over the three matches, including a season-high of 23 kills at Valparaiso. Koch ranks second in the Horizon League averaging 3.97 kills per set.
