Activ8 Academy:

Our special program for campers ages 4/56/7. Every week has a new theme for kids to dive into with a variety of arts, crafts, games and songs!

Activ8ers:

Campers ages 8 to 11 can choose from 7 categories of camps to fit their active and creative lifestyle.

Between 2 Teen:

For ages 11-14, this program also offers 7 categories of camps to choose from. You’re not a kid anymore, so it’s time to take it up a notch!

Puppet Party

Create your very own movie or game. Get ready to learn how to use the versatile program from MIT called “Scratch” that lets you easily create interactive stories, games, music, and art. This camp will be held at the Center for Commerce & Technology on CSU’s main campus.

Have clothes you don’t use in your wardrobe? Bring them in to create your own puppets! You’ll be amazed at the characters you can create from a pair of socks or an old hat. Learn about the history of some of the most famous puppeteers and discover the stories behind some of the puppets you know and love - all while practicing new sewing skills by hand and with a machine!

What makes a volcano erupt and explosions combust? We’ll show you! Learn how chemical reactions work in this camp. You’ll even make your own mini volcano! $69

Put your brain to the test! How long does it take you to solve a problem? One minute or two? Learn how to train your brain to solve problems under pressure, and create your own puzzles and riddles that will stump everyone you know!

Game Shakers

Whether you want to be the next pro gamer, streamer, or gamecaster this course will teach you the basics to get started! No longer just a hobby, eSports is the fastest growing career for the next generation. Over 400 million people watched YouTube videos and Twitch streams of video game competitions this year alone! In this course, you will develop competitive game-play skills in Black Rocket’s new eSports App, learn how to produce commentary for live tournaments, use professional streaming software, and most importantly practice online safety. Designed as an introduction to engineering skills and applications, this camp uses LEGOs to engage campers in build projects and challenges. Campers will have an opportunity to engineer their own individual designs, and create in teams to solve problems.

Join us for an interactive, hands-on, minds-on good time with mathematics! We will explore and solve challenges, play games and engage in hands-on learning activities. Be careful though! Young Mozarts Group Piano Camp for Beginners Let’s play piano! This camp will focus on developing piano fundamentals. Athletics Athletic Camps 46th Annual Cheerleading Camp The CSU Cheerleading program is one of the best Division II programs in the country. The CSU cheerleaders have won several Peach Belt titles, are nationally ranked and have won seven National Champions. The 46th Annual Columbus State University Cheerleading Camp will feature cheers, chants, jumps, dances and a lot of fun. The week will end on Friday morning with a Pep Rally for family and friends. Athletics Basketball Individual Camp These camps are designed to accommodate all skill levels. Campers will improve their basketball skills and focus on the fundamentals by participating in different contests and scrimmages. The Columbus State University Men’s and Women’s coaching staff will provide instruction. Campers will meet at the Lumpkin Center on the CSU campus.

Cougar Softball Skills Camp

CSU Cougars Baseball Camp

This camp is designed for the younger athlete looking to improve their overall game. All areas of softball will be taught in small groups. Groups will be determined based on their overall level. Campers will meet at CSU Softball Field.

The Cougar Baseball Camp is for both young and older players looking to develop their skills, learn the game and have fun. Players will receive individualized instruction and learn the fundamentals of hitting, pitching, fielding and team play. Players will be divided by age groups for drills and games. The camp will be headed up by the CSU Head Coach Greg Appleton and his assistant coaches, Patrick Collins and Sammy Styers. Campers will meet daily at Ragsdale Field on the CSU campus. Men’s Basketball Elite Camp - Boys

This camp is designed for all high school players looking to hone their skill and gain insight on what it takes to be a college softball player. Players will take part in a MLB style evaluation workout, college drill work on all aspects of the game and opportunity to participate in Live Situations.

The Elite basketball camp is designed for 8th -12th grade boys who would like the opportunity to learn more advanced fundamentals and skills from our Columbus State Men’s Basketball Coaching staff. The young men will also participate in 5 on 5 scrimmage situations against high level talent around the Southeast region. Campers will meet at the Lumpkin Center Gym.

The CSU Tennis Camp explores the game of tennis and the fundamentals needed to be a successful player, whether you are a beginner or advanced player. Instruction covers the fundamentals, and combines games, drills and workouts with the ball machine. We will work on the backhand and forehand swings, and the serve. This camp offers specialty training for players who like to score goals and become better Goalkeepers. The entire week will focus on being the best strikers and Goalkeepers in the area. This camp is for players who want the next level training.

The CSU Soccer Camps will focus on making the game of soccer easy and fun. Learn the skills of dribbling, passing, kicking and making goals. The typical day includes fundamentals and match-related skills training, tactical awareness training, and competitive group and team play. Players of all skill levels will benefit from the program. Full day campers will eat lunch in the cafeteria (included in tuition), and in the afternoon, campers will play indoor soccer and swim when facilities are available. FUN-damentals of Golf Camp Located at the Columbus State University Key Golf Studio located on University Ave. in Columbus, campers will gain a deeper understanding of the sport and build confidence in their ability while having fun with other campers. Activ8 FAQ’s LOCATIONS Camps are held at various sites on Columbus State University’s main campus. Children are not allowed to be on campus without supervision more than 15 minutes before or after their camp begins or ends. Acceptable drop-off and pick-up times are: Morning Camps: 8:45am – 12:15pm Afternoon Camps: 12:45pm – 4:15pm If your child will be here before 8:45 or after 4:15, you must sign your child up for available Before or After Care. We will be enforcing a sign-in/out policy to ensure the safety of campers. • Activ8 Academy, Activ8er and BeTween2Teen camps are housed in the Elizabeth Bradley Turner Center on CSU Main Campus. Campers must be dropped off and picked up at the Turner Center. Campers attending camps being held at the Recreation Center (Athletics) will be escorted by our staff from Turner Center to other locations, as needed. Before/After Care programs are available for these programs. See Before/After Care on page 1 for more information. • Athletic camps are held at various locations according to the camp. • Drop off and pick up is available at the Synovus Center for Commerce and Technology for some iTech camps. You will recieve more information upon registration. See camp listings for location for your camp. Campers must be dropped off and picked up at the designated camp location. Before/After programs are available for these programs (with exception of golf programs). See Before/After Care on page 1 for more information. • CSU Dance Conservatory camps and summer classes are held at the Rankin Arts Center in Uptown Columbus. Campers must be dropped off and picked up at that location. • Coca-Cola Space Science Center camps are held at the Coca-Cola Space Science Center. No Before/ After Care is available for these camps. • Music camps will be held at the Schwob School of Music located downtown on Broadway. AGE GUIDELINES • Four year old students must turn five before December 1, 2019 to participate. • Seven year old students who have completed the 2nd grade may attend the Activ8 Academy or Activ8ers. • Ten year old students who have completed the 5th grade may attend the Activ8ers or BeTween 2 Teen camps. SAFETY Safety is our number one concern for your children. All of our employees have passed criminal background checks. At no point in our schedule will

Activ8 is offering a 5% discount to anyone who registers for the entire summer. In order to be eligible for the discount, campers must be enrolled in a morning camp, lunch, and an afternoon camp for each of the ten weeks. Camps fill early so be sure to sign up now. The Full Summer Discount may be combined with the Early Bird Discount. Please contact the Continuing & Professional Education Registration Desk at 706.507.8070 for more information on how to obtain this discount.

WAIVER All participants must have a fully completed and signed waiver before they can join the camp. Please make sure that we have all waivers prior to the start of the program. If we do not have your child’s waiver, your child cannot participate. Visit Activ8er.com to download a waiver. ABSENCES If your child is going to be absent or late, please call the Activ8 office at 706.507.8282 or email assistance@ columbusstate.edu to let us know. SPECIAL NEEDS & HEALTH NEEDS We welcome all children to our program and make our best effort to accommodate everyone. When filling out your child’s waiver, please make sure to include all information that would be relevant and important for our staff to know. If there are special health or behavioral needs, please contact our Activ8 office at 706.507.8282 or email assistance@ columbusstate.edu at least one week pior to your child attending camp. BAD WEATHER In case of bad weather (i.e. heavy rain, lightning or tornadoes) we will keep all children indoors until the weather has passed and the staff has been authorized to go back outside. For the safety of your child, we ask that you allow inclement weather to pass before coming to find your child. Our staff will make sure all children get to their destinations once authorization has been received. Please send an umbrella or poncho with your child if the weather requires it. LAST MINUTE REGISTRATIONS Pre-registration is strongly encouraged for all camps. If you have not pre-registered for your child’s camp prior to the start date, you must register in person at the Elizabeth Bradley Turner Center on the CSU main campus before you drop your child off at camp. REFUNDS/CANCELLATIONS If you choose to withdraw from a camp, you must contact us before 5pm on the Wednesday prior to the start of the camp to get a full refund minus a $20 processing fees per camp. If you withdraw after Wednesday, but before the camp begins, you will receive a 50% refund. No refunds are given after a
