Graduates of this two-year certificate program will be able to administer and interpret formal and informal assessments, deliver individualized instruction, and advocate for students with learning disabilities or significant learning issues. NEW! M.S. IN ACCOUNTANCY DEGREE PROGRAM www.csueastbay.edu/msa The Master of Science in Accountancy program is an AACSBaccredited accounting program designed to prepare students for entry into the accounting profession. This one-year MSA program provides students with the 36 accounting-education units required for the U.S. Certified Public Accountants (CPA) exam. The program also satisfies both the accounting and ethics study of the new 150hour educational requirements for CPA licensure in California. PARALEGAL STUDIES CERTIFICATE PROGRAM www.ce.csueastbay.edu/certificate/paralegal Daytime classes are available in fall 2013 at our downtown Oakland Center! The American Bar Association (ABA)-approved Paralegal Studies Certificate Program is valuable for students seeking entrylevel Paralegal positions. Our program is also an excellent option for existing paralegals who seek to increase earning potential and meet or exceed the educational requirements dictated by California law. Evening and online courses are also available. NONPROFIT MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATE PROGRAM www.ce.csueastbay.edu/certificate/nonprofit A Nonprofit Management Certificate prepares professionals to meet the increasingly challenging demands of the nonprofit sector. The need for qualified and knowledgeable nonprofit board members, administrators, staff, and volunteers continues to grow. In fact, the average growth rate of employment in the nonprofit sector now is significantly higher than that in the business and government sectors. GREEN BUSINESS MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATE PROGRAM www.ce.csueastbay.edu/certificate/green_business A certificate in green business management enables leaders to make operational activities greener, and to make more informed decisions based on principles of green business. The program addresses the practical applications of green management in various industries, and serves to update existing business knowledge and skills that will produce and create competent managers for an aggressive and multifaceted market.

Posting of Grades The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act prohibits grade information from being provided over the telephone. Grades are posted to the Web throughout the quarter. Students can reference their grades through MyCSUEB, using their university NetID. Official transcripts are available approximately two weeks after grades are available online. If grade information is needed sooner, students may print an unofficial transcript from the Student Portal at ce.csueastbay.edu. Grading Chart The grading chart below, used in regular University instruction, also applies to the grading of Continuing Education courses. This is counted as an “F” in GPA calculations. UNIT EQUIVALENCY Cal State East Bay teaches on a four-quarter, rather than a semester, schedule. Courses are measured in quarter units of credit, convertible to semester units. 10 hours of class time equal one quarter unit. A quarter-to-semester unit conversion chart is provided below. REGISTRATION POLICIES Incomplete grades It is the student’s responsibility to request incomplete grades for any classes. Instructors assign such grades only if the student has completed a definable portion of work and only if the student has supplied pertinent information to the instructor to justify the request. If the instructor agrees that the student’s request for an incomplete is justified, the instructor and student must complete and sign a Report of Incomplete Grade Form. This form outlines the rationale for an incomplete grade, specifying what course requirements must be completed in order to assign a final grade. The Report of Incomplete Grade form can be obtained in person from the Continuing Education Office, or by calling (510) 885-3605. Enrollment Cal State East Bay accepts enrollment by all adults (high school graduates, college students, and professionals) and does not discriminate on the basis of race, age, disability, marital status, religion, or sexual preference. The University catalog lists the complete text of the University’s nondiscrimination policies. Cal State East Bay Continuing Education abides by these same policies. Registration Students can register for courses online, by phone, or by mail. Registrations are considered incomplete until full tuition and fees have been paid. Registration and fees must be submitted no later than the first meeting of the course. Payment at a first class meeting may be accepted if space is available and the instructor approves. For courses with five or more meetings, a $25.00 late registration fee per course is charged if student registers after first day of class. Courses of four meetings or less do not permit registration after the first day of class. This policy applies to both credit and non-credit courses. Fees are due at time of registration and can be paid by cash, credit card, electronic check, or check by mail (with registration form) or in person. Credit card payments are only accepted online. Failure to pay fees within 48 hours of enrollment could result in being dropped from courses and subject to a $15 processing fee. Pay Online Credit card and electronic check payments can be made online through our secure interface at http://www.csueastbay.edu/payonline. We accept American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and VISA. There is a non-refundable 2.9% service charge for paying with a credit card. Course Cancellation Cal State East Bay Continuing Education reserves the right to cancel courses without prior notification, up to and including the first day of class, because of low enrollment, instructor/faculty availability, or other reason. In the event of course cancellation, all registration fees will be held in the students’ accounts and may be applied to a rescheduled offering of the course, transferred to apply toward another course registration, or refunded to the student. Administrative Fees Certification Program Application—$45.00 Late Registration—$25.00 Returned Check—$25.00 See the Records and Grades sections for other applicable fees. Returned Check Fee Policy A returned check penalty fee of $25.00 will be charged to a student’s account for any check dishonored by the drawee bank. The returned check and penalty fee must be paid by cash, credit card, or money order. If a student, or anyone paying on the student’s behalf, has written one or more returned checks, check cashing privileges will be revoked. If a returned check was used to pay for more than one student, each student will be assessed the $25 returned check fee. Payments made by a returned check are reversed from the student’s account, leaving the balance due and payable immediately. Outstanding balances are subject to the unpaid fees and delinquent accounts policy and may result in the students being dropped from their classes. Refunds and Withdrawals Some Continuing Education programs have course-specific policies If you cannot continue enrollment in a course for which you have enrolled for a particular quarter, you must officially drop the course online (please see our website at http://ce.csueastbay.edu for details) and request a refund. Some Continuing Education programs have course specific policies that differ from and supersede the refund policy below. Course specific refund policies are noted in the course schedule. Material fees are not refundable. If the University cancels a class, students will automatically receive a full refund. Refund schedule Course Length
