EXHAUST GAS ANALYSER FOR PETROL ENGINES AGS-688 is a gas analyser used to measure gas concentrations in the exhaust of petrol engines. It can be used both for exhaust check in periodic mandatory tests and for ordinary service and maintenance operations on petrol engines.

OPERATING MODES The device samples the exhaust gas by means of its probe, supplied as a standard. By means of its simple keyboard, it is possibile to perform all of the analyser’s functions, and easily switch from the free measurement mode to the official exhaust test. The AGS-688 comes with 6 backlighted LCD units, where test data are displayed. At the end of the exhaust gas test, it is possible to directly print the test results, or send them to a PC connected to the gas analyser. Connections to power supply, to RPM and temperature probes (with cable or wireless) to an external PC (via cable or wireless), are also present on the rear of the device.

THE PNEUMATIC UNIT The Water Separator Group is injection moulded, in order to reduce the gas path’s length and maintenance times. The separation filter consists of two sections: a mechanical filter and a coalescent (condensation) one. A single axle, dual-head pump allows for continuous removal of the water which condenses into the separator. AGS-688 has exhaust gas and fresh air (autozero) inputs, and also a dedicated inlet for calibration with reference gases.

AGS-688 PLUS FEATURES

The AGS-688 was designed as a basic exhaust gas analyser; nevertheless, its wide range of optional accessories allows for a rich set of additional functions: • An integrated RPM meter is available, which can support any of these choices: induction clamp, capacitive clamp or MGT-300. • By adding a radio module in AGS-688 expansion slot it is possible to connect the wireless MGT-300/R RPM meter. • It is possible AGS-688 to connect to a PC via RS232, USB or with a BT-100 Bluetooth ® module. • AGS-688 allows for connection to the smokemeter through the omniBUS port: in this case the analyser behaves like a terminal to the smokemeter, where opacity of diesel exhaust can be displayed.

EXHAUST GAS ANALYSER FOR PETROL ENGINES Essential and user-friendly gas analyser. AGS-690 can be used for both exhaust check in mandatory inspections and for routine service and repair operations on vehicles.

OPERATING MODES

The device samples the exhaust gas by means of its probe, supplied as a standard. By means of the interaction with the specific Brain Bee OMNIBUS 800 software it is possible to perform all of the analyser functions and easily switch from the free measurement mode to the official test. The operating principle is based on the measurement of the absorption degree by infrared rays of gases which are present in the sample during the analysis. AGS-690 – thanks to its high accuracy technology – is able to assess absorption on the several frequency bands of the components - CO, CO2, HC – thus obtaining the associated concentration values. Concentrations of Oxygen and NOx (optional) are measured by electrochemical sensors.

OPERATING MODES CARBURATION CURVE It automatically memorises the value of the gases at different engine revolutions and displays the carburation curve. Particularly recommended for road tests or tests with power test bench. AUTOMATIC DIAGNOSIS The software compares the gas values and provides the operator with a list of possible causes of the engine’s poor functioning. CATALYTIC CONVERTER EFFICIENCY The software guides the operator through the test and provides the catalytic converter’s percentage efficiency each gas analysed both before and after the said converter. DOUBLE LAMBDA SENSOR TEST Using the oscilloscope function it analyses the variations in the signal and provides an operating efficiency value. CYLINDER-HEAD TIGHTNESS TEST The software guides the operator through the test and by analysing the gases inside the cooling liquid bottle is able to establish whether there are any infiltrations from the cylinder-head gasket. HEATING EFFICIENCY TEST By memorising the values of the gases for 30 minutes, the software is able to establish whether the auxiliary starter elements and temperature elements are working correctly.

OPERATING MODES

OPA-300 is the latest opacimeter module in the family of gas and fume analysis and control tools. Easy to use and designed to ensure operational flexibility, OPA-300 is linked to the normal serial port of any PC (RS232 or RS485) and using the OMNIBUS800 proprietary software included, also guides the most inexpert operator in his fume control operations.

GUARANTEED MODULARITY Like other tools of the line, the OPA-300 opacimeter can be integrated in the different BRAIN BEE emissions control configurations, providing the end user with his own control station to meet his every requirement. It can also be integrated in existing stations (on a Brain Bee trolley) demonstrating that restyling will not affect the performance of stations of those already working with Brain Bee tools.
