BUT DON’T JUST TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT... ...share the experience, lifestyle and working days described by some of our graduates who fly as airline pilots today. Whilst all have different experiences with their employer airline, a common thread binds them all together - a passion to fly, a strong sense of teamwork and a commitment to exceed the expectations of their customers.

FIRST OFFICER/AIRBUS AIRCREW MANAGER – BRITISH AIRWAYS
SENIOR FIRST OFFICER – MONARCH AIRLINES
I love the variety and continued challenge of my role. Whether flying our customers to European destinations, working on the ground to improve processes or working with colleagues to achieve change and improvement.
The reason I love my job isn’t just about the amazing views out of the window. I see new places and meet new people every day. The adrenaline you get when you line up on the runway, seeing the sunshine every day reminds me of a real sense of achievement that I have made it.
My experience at CTC Aviation was brilliant! I would go back and do it all over again if I could. The training makes you an airline pilot from the word go without you even realising it. Today I am the Flight Manager for the Airbus fleets at BA. I am a First Officer on the A320 fleet flying once a week. I am also responsible for managing our Airbus pilots and down-route operations, working closely with other BA departments as we strive to improve our customer experience.

I love my job simply because it doesn’t feel like work. CTC Aviation for me was an experience I will never forget. Not only did I meet a great group of friends who I will stay in contact with for the rest of my life, but I also got to fly solo around the stunning scenery of New Zealand. Whilst the course was testing, there were moments when you had to pinch yourself to believe it was all happening for real. For me, my experience of CTC Aviation didn’t stop once I qualified, I have stayed in contact with the team and feel I was treated more like a friend than a trainee throughout my time with CTC Aviation.

I feel that my training with CTC Aviation was comprehensive, challenging, enjoyable and overall a positive experience.
The training was great and the team at CTC Aviation looked after me very well - I got first time passes throughout.
Comprehensive - from the basics of ground school, the fantastic flying in NZ through to the complexity of instrument flying in the UK The instructors were thorough, professional and motivated in the manner they delivered the training.
As you start your ATPLs you are effectively writing your CV, so it’s important that you chose your training provider carefully and ensure you gear everything you do from there on to ensure you have the best chance of being eligible for an airline opportunity when it comes around.
I chose to train with CTC Aviation due to the strong reputation the brand has in the aviation industry. I finished my training in 2009 during the financial crisis. This meant waiting almost a year for a job as the airlines were not recruiting during that time. However, I was confident that when the airlines did start recruiting again, CTC Aviation pilots would be in a prime position. These days I gather placement comes far more quickly!
Challenging - because of the dynamic environment in terms of different aircraft, new flying environments and new faces throughout the training period.
I chose to train with CTC Aviation because of the excellent partnership they have with various airlines around the giving me a better chance of getting a job with a reputable airline.
Enjoyable - because of the new friends that I have made from many different cultures and being able to experience and share the ups and downs with them.
When the CTC Aviation graduate placement team notified me of the Ryanair opportunity, I knew that it would be a great place to start my airline pilot career and the promotion opportunities are excellent.
I started with easyJet over four years ago now and have had the exciting opportunity to live and work in their European bases such as Rome. I absolutely love my career and would highly recommend training with such a reputable organisation with strong partnerships with airlines to anybody seriously considering a career in this industry.
A positive experience overall, as the training and experience CTC Aviation provided me has now enabled me to fly with a great deal of confidence with Royal Brunei Airlines.

ONE BIG HAPPY
FAMILY “FAMILY IS NOT AN IMPORTANT THING. IT’S EVERYTHING!” MICHAEL J. FOX
THERE ARE MANY ATTRACTIONS TO THE CAREER AS AN AIRLINE PILOT... ...and one of the most compelling is the diversity and richness of the fellow crew-members with whom you will fly. Working as part of an airline crew is really like being part of one large extended family; caring for your passengers as well as each other as you travel the globe. No day is ever the same; always filled with challenge and excitement as you complete your work with interesting and like-minded people. The airline industry is literally unrivalled when it comes to the quality and calibre of people within its family.

DEDICATED TO THE
CUSTOMER “A SATISFIED CUSTOMER IS THE BEST BUSINESS STRATEGY OF ALL” AS WELL AS OPERATING THE AIRCRAFT SAFELY... ...and efficiently along its flight-planned journey, the pilots must also play their part in exceeding the expectations of the customer. The success of an airline is either won or lost by the attitudes of the whole crew to ensure that customers will return to fly with that airline, especially if unexpected circumstances arise. Whether it is avoiding turbulence to calm nervous passengers, making timely announcements about a flight delay, or simply thanking passengers for their business as they leave your aircraft, the crew can make a real difference. And remember, the success of your employer airline means that you can also continue to enjoy your love of flying airliners that you worked so hard to achieve in the first place! The team at CTC Aviation also recognise that you are one of our customers and we too aim to exceed your expectations through the same service commitment – we lead and train by example.

YUTARO ISODA
Training at CTC Aviation has provided me with an excellent opportunity to become a skilled and professional airline pilot. This is due to the high level of professionalism of the CTC Aviation instructors and the state-of-the-art facilities. We are training at Hamilton on the north island of NZ and living at ‘Clearways’ halls of residence. Now I have some irreplaceable friends and we occasionally meet at international airports. Life in NZ provides for lots of outdoor activities because of the wonderful nature around us such as beautiful beaches, clear rivers and abundant mountain ranges. To summarise, the experience has made me a very international-minded and professional pilot. Yutaro is now a co-pilot for Vanilla Air.

CTC WINGS
Ever since I can remember, becoming an airline pilot has always been a lifetime ambition. Who wouldn’t want to get paid to fly these amazing machines, travel the world and meet new people? I’m thoroughly looking forward to working within a constantly changing and highly rewarding environment. I feel proud and privileged to be training with CTC Aviation, regarded by many as the world’s most successful training company. I have had a fantastic experience working with like-minded colleagues and staff in what I would regard as one big family. Dean is now a co-pilot for Thomas Cook Airlines.
JOSIE FERRADA
CTC WINGS
During my training with CTC Aviation, I enjoyed most of all the experienced instructing and tailored airline-orientated training. I chose CTC Aviation at the time due to its established name in the industry along with great facilities and being recommended to me by my flying club. I look forward to applying all that I’ve learnt with CTC Aviation and building upon that knowledge to finally pursue the job I have always dreamt of. Josie is now co-pilot for easyJet.
DAN BERTORELLI
CTC TAKEOFF
The training environment was very professional and very airline orientated, which is exactly what I wanted from a training organisation. During the final, more advanced phases of training I was instructed by airline pilots, some having retired and some still working for airlines. This was fantastic for my development, experience building and learning some tricks of the trade. It was also run very much like an airline with rosters and report times. The training through CTC TAKEOFF prepared me for the airline environment; it laid the foundations for further learning with easyJet. CTC Aviation also run interview preparation days, which helped me significantly when it came to my interview with easyJet. Dan is now a co-pilot for easyJet.

PAUL NEWNHAM HEAD OF AIRLINE TRAINING (UK)
It is an absolute pleasure working with such a friendly, experienced yet dedicated team of aviation professionals who all share a common passion; to see our airline pilots of the future achieve their dreams. My own flying career with Virgin Atlantic was operating long-haul aircraft and so what is important to me is that everyone at CTC Aviation delivers training in the way an airline would do it. As a result, our graduates transition very smoothly into their first airline job which for me is hugely rewarding.
EMMA-JANE LACY FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR (NZ)
After falling in love with flying, I did my research to decide on the training school best for me. I chose CTC Aviation because of its global reputation and its airline-oriented training. I also knew that I wanted to become an instructor after completing my training. I completed my Instructor course and then started work at CTC Aviation. I really enjoy working here with a great bunch of people. The daily highlight would have to be passing on the knowledge from my own training and experience to the cadets and seeing them succeed. Having CTC Aviation on your CV makes you more appealing to a range of airlines around the world. I would recommend CTC Aviation to anyone wanting to get into the airline industry because of its international reputation and high quality airline-specific training standards.

SHARING THE
ADVENTURE “Life is either a great adventure or nothing!” HELEN KELLER
Your journey towards becoming an airline pilot is one great adventure in itself. Your training with us could take you to far-flung corners of the globe of which you may have only dreamt. From the starkness of Camelback mountain abutting the desert in Phoenix, to the lush green pastures of New Zealand that gently nudge the shores of Lake Taupo, to the crash of the waves of the English Channel upon the Bournemouth seafront. Even a weekend sightseeing in London or a tour of the Jaguar-Land Rover factory is within easy reach. These incredible experiences will be shared with your fellow pilots as you complete this journey together as a team, supporting each other as you go. During your basic flight training either in New Zealand or the USA, you will live in one of our dedicated Crew Accommodation Centres where you will work, rest and play together. Back in the UK you will share one of our houses in the local areas around Southampton, Bournemouth or Coventry. CTC Aviation’s graduate pilots are held in especially high-regard by our Airline Partners because of this continuous development of team skills and a real ‘esprit de corps’; an essential attribute of all airline crews. FUNDING WE ARE COMMITTED TO ENABLING PEOPLE... ...with the ‘right stuff’ to pursue their airline flying career aspirations and bring talent to the flight deck and beyond. We do appreciate that airline pilot training is expensive and raising the required funds can, for some, be a potential hurdle. We will work with you to clarify your finance needs and outline some possible funding options available to you (including UK student loan funding for those that are eligible). And don’t worry - you will not be required to deposit all of the funds in advance. As you will see from our ‘Finance and Funding’ ‘info’ guide, we have developed a deposit schedule which broadly matches the timing of payments to your progress through the training course. There is also our unrivalled TRAINING SPONSORSHIP and/or airline SPONSORSHIP as well as our unique PERFORMANCE PROTECTION package (see page 26) exclusively available to CTC WINGS trainees giving provision for additional training, testing and accommodation (if required) to provide you with complete peace-of-mind.
