Welcome to the heartbreaking lifestory of our
new breakout artist, Kalani. Born as Kalani Ashley Parrish in South Berkeley. Our Kalani did not have the best childhood. Both her mother and father were drug addicts and were sent to jail not long after she was born. Tragic this is to hear. Being raised not around her parents but her Aunt in an East Oakland Duplex. Not really knowing who were her parents as after this we don’t know what happened to her mother while her father shortly died after being in jail. After this traumatic experience she had gone through she found her asylum in in the arts, dancing competitively until an injury caused her to switch to singing. Using this to escape from the life she had had to live in. Having to help pay the bills for her aunt. Working two jobs while her friends went out drinking and partying. By the age of 14 she was recruited to be a member of a cover band, PopLyfe, which in 2011 finished fourth on America’s Got Talent. Not long after the show Kalani got kicked out of her high school. It would seem her life was over however someone came along to boost the starting point of her accelerating career. Nick Cannon reached out to Kalani who’d recognized her talent during the show. Kehlani moved to LA and met with music producers to create her first mixtape in 2014 called Cloud19. Now we have the brand new realease of her new first Album SweetSexySavage. To make this more impressive she was the lead writer for this album. With so far the album recieved positive critic for it’s lyrical content. Kalani was inspired by artists like TLC, Gwen Stefani and Pink and she had more fun creating this album. Managing to create 17 songs for this album which I love all of them very much. which is a song that displays a deep message how important it is that we must understand that we deserve to only be in a healthy relationship and not one that will cause us pain and sorrow. Other songs like Hold me by the heart having the soothing guitar beat in the background which relaxes you while you listen to it. performance which apparently may be soon??? Now our dear Kalani is all grown up. making her name out in the music world. Her song Gangsta was a massive hit for the film Suicide Squad released back in 2016. Everyone was asking who was Kalani. To many of us she was new but to her fans she was just walking on her red carpet of fame. Now all we want is our queen is to win her very first award for her incredible music she has been producing. Nobody deserves it more than she does. She has been nominated for a Grammy award twice. Kalani should soon get her first award with the Grammy award show coming soon this Fall. So my readers wrap up warm this season. With the cold winter approaching what is better to stay indoors but to blast out this killer album SweetSexySavage on loud volume speaker.
