We start 2023 here kicking 2022 to the curb with all the bad taste in our mouths from what occurred during 2022, far to many bad events to put in one article here.

But let’s look at 2023 as the year to be better, seek truth and come together to build unity and rights for everyone without any one group having more rights than others.

If you take Mental Illness and remove the “I” and replace it with “WE” it ends up as Mental Wellness and that’s what I wish for everyone for 2023 and beyond.

It sounds easy and I know how hard it is for persons fighting with stress and anxiety but let’s fight together.

I Love Camp Hope for the Unity, Peace n Love that Camp Hope is built on at the centre of Canada.

Enjoy this Printed Edition and share copies to friends.

See more in the digital magazine and the next few pages, digital does not limit the amount of good stuff we can provide you!

Page 7 beside here is an Ad by a close friend of mine for decades and friend to anyone that Mike has ever helped.

He is Mike Vogiatzakis of Voyage Funeral Home & Crematorium and has assisted my family several times included my Mom and Dad.

Established in 1998, Voyage Funeral Home & Crematorium is family owned and operated by the Vogiatzakis family The name “Voyage” comes from the family’s last name pronounced: voyage-akis

A funeral is not something of, if it happens, it sadly is a fact of life, we all come to face at some time for our loved ones and of course ourselves. Knowing the right place to go and the right people to talk to is important.

What I am talking about not just at that time of sudden grief, but preplanning that takes a lot of the sting out of it, and allows you more time for family and friends.

Not only am I impressed by Voyage preplanning abilities and prepaid safe ways to pay in advance for this event, but on their website forms such as a will, very important.

I feel it is important to talk with you about this now no matter where you live or what stage of Life you are at because I have found Mike and the Voyage Staff above the rest. Not because they support your magazine and Canadian Trucking Magazine social media platforms, but because I care about you and taking this stress off your plate in advance.

You probably have driven past the Voyage first location and main office located at 220 Hespeler Avenue at

Henderson Hwy. Voyage also has other Locations and the crematorium is located at 713 Greenwood Avenue in Selkirk, Manitoba, all of which are owned and operated by Voyage Funeral Home

Voyage believe in treating your loved one as they would our own. That I have witnessed first hands with my parents and friends and as recently as the start of 2023. Voyage funeral home offers no hidden costs. They truly believe in being upfront and honest.

The service is personalized in order to guide you through the most difficult of times, with care and compassion

Understanding that your family is unique, is instrumental in their promise to honour your wishes and final arrangements, whatever they may be.

Allow Voyage to assist you in celebrating the life of your loved one. In your time of need, with their funeral home is your home just a phone call away

You may have already listened to Mike in the many broadcasts of “Ask the Funeral Director” where Mike reaches out to answer all your questions on those broadcasts.

I would feel better knowing you have a Will, a preplan, and perhaps a prepaid funeral with the Right Funeral Home, so you and your family are covered in such sometimes unexpected tragic times

On January 11th 2023 the RCMP Federal Policing Transnational Serious and Organized Crime (TSOC) team executed four search warrants in the Greater Toronto Area after an extensive Investigation into a large scale drug importation network

After a long, complex investigation, the Toronto North, TSOC Team seized, as proceeds of crime, over $800,000 in Canadian currency, 88 units of Ether Crypotocurrency, a 2022 Mercedes Benz G-Wagon and over $2,000,000 in jewelry, watches and other luxury items.

The investigation included assistance from, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) , Service de police de la ville de Montreal (SPVM) , Barrie Police Service, Brantford Police Service, and Toronto Police Service, and the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC).

As a result of this investigation four people are charged with importing cocaine and proceeds of crime

With the assistance from policing partners, The RCMP’s TSOC enforment team has successfully disrupted this large-scale drug importation and trafficking network operating from the GTA.

The enforcement actions of these officers will have a direct and positive impact in the suppression of criminal conduct

Moreover the coordinated efforts contribute meaningfully to the Safety of the Communities they serve. • If you have information about suspicious cross-border activity, please contact the CBSA Border Watch Toll free Line at 1-888-502-9060.

l The Women In Trucking Association (WIT) has announced Kathy Tuccaro as its December 2022 Member of the Month Tuccaro is a Heavy Equipment Operator for ExxonMobil.

Although Tuccaro was a nurse for 13 years, she found herself on a destructive path, even homeless, due to decades of unresolved trauma A wake-up call led her to a women’s recovery center, where she spent the next year relearning who she really was and accepting the most authentic version of herself.

At the age of 42, nursing was the only career she knew so she attended a career planning workshop to figure out her next steps in life.

After three days of aptitude and personality tests, she was handed a paper that had “Heavy Equipment Operator” in large, bold letters. “I laughed so hard I almost fell out of my chair,” Tuccaro said. “I didn’t even like equipment,

I was not mechanically inclined, and I considered that a man’s job I told the woman that her test was wrong.” However, the woman looked back at her and sternly said, “if you believe in yourself a little bit, you will see the test is right!”

From there, Tuccaro was sent to a non-profit organization, Women Building Futures, where ExxonMobil was sponsoring 16 women to take a 12-week Heavy Equipment Operator course. She was selected out of 170 applicants, hired by ExxonMobil in 2013, and now drives a 400-ton 797F Caterpillar Mining Truck, a 52,000-gallon water truck, and a 24M Grader.

“I highly encourage women to try a career in the non-traditional trades,” she said. “It pays well, is super fun, and will challenge you to be your best self in every aspect of your life ”

Now 10 years sober, Tuccaro has written three books and travels the world working with women and youth in schools, juvenile homes, prisons, and communities Additionally, she has won two awards for being an ambassador for women in the trades, has been featured in magazines, on radio shows, podcasts, and TV shows, and is a co-host on a radio show, Women Road Warriors, with Shelley Johnson on TNCRadio.Live.

Tuccaro’s experience with homelessness inspired her to start “Operation Hydration,” where she distributes water to the homeless during the hottest months of the year in the cities where she’s traveling

She also started a work boot recycling program, donating gently used boots and hard hats to programs that assist people in need who are pursuing a job in the trades. This initiative has led her to distribute more than 7,000 pairs of boots to the communities in Alberta, Canada.

When asked about her advice to other women, Tuccaro said, “to anyone out there who is craving change, start by changing the story you are telling yourself You must believe in the person you want to become, then work every day to reach your goals You won’t regret the efforts put into building a new and better you If I can do it, so can you!”

Women In Trucking Association, Inc. is a nonprofit association established to encourage the employment of women in the trucking industry, promote their accomplishments and minimize obstacles faced by women working in the trucking industry.

Membership is not limited to women, as 17 percent of its members are men who support the mission

Rescue dogs and lost pets who need a ride home have a Awesome Group of allies in Canada, TRUCKERS.

A group based in Thunder Bay, Ont., will help coordinate rides for animals who are heading from one part of the country to another.

Furry Hobos and Hiway Heroes is the creation of Margaret Foster. A former truck driver, she took it upon herself to help coordinate rides for those with four legs.

"It actually gives them something they feel good about. I mean, you go up and down the road here, you see the accidents and everything else that happens," said Foster

She said nearly 300 dogs have been transported through the group to their new homes, anywhere in Canada. She said some trucks in the United States are also now part of her 'network', allowing

for international movement of the animals in need.

Foster said drivers are not compensated, but she asks for a donation of home baking, or a gift card for coffee

Help from the community

Foster said many of the drivers have their own animals in their trucks, that they refer to as 'An Ambassador.'

As for continuing to help ferry rescue animals, or those who are lost and found to their proper homes, Foster said most drivers can't get enough of it

"[One driver], he gets a hold of me all the time and says, 'Margaret, I'm getting tired of laughing at my own jokes, you'd better give me a dog.'"

Visit on FaceBook; Furry Hobos N Hiway Hero"s. Dog gone Truckin! Thanks Margaret!!

We began as a group of active and retired Police Officers whose mission remains:

To honour our Oath to uphold the Constitution of Canada and, to the best of our abilities, preserve the peace, prevent offenses and to discharge other duties as Police Officers faithfully, impartially, and according to law.

To continue to serve and protect the public while remaining independent of political influence.

To repair and regain public trust being damaged or lost due to the enforcement of emergency measures.

We believe these measures not only conflict with our Charter Oath but place active duty police officers in an untenable position when directed to enforce these measures.

As our membership grows, we stand now with our active and retired brothers and sisters within the Military, Law Enforcement, Canada Border Services Agency, Correctional

Services and Fire Fighters with a mission:

To honour our individual oaths in support of our great country and our commitment of service to its citizens. We uphold our duty of loyalty to the Charter and maintain respect for the rights of all. Together we stand:

To encourage our active and retired members to join in our court actions requesting clarification on the validity of the measures passed by our Federal, Provincial and Municipal governments.

And finally, to maintain a lawful, peaceful and respectful environment as we move forward in the challenges outlined above.
