“Compared to some of my friends, I do in certain ways feel more responsible, simply because I was the first one to move out of my parents’ house and live somewhere else. I’m more open to taking risks and doing things on my own, therefore, my self-confidence has definitely increased. I list my au pair experience on my CV because a one year stay abroad shows employers that I’ve learned to be flexible and responsible.”

“Having the continued support of Cultural Au Pair Care always ready to provide information and politely visiting our institution has allowed our student community count on a wonderful option for travel, earn international experience and acquire fluency in the English language. The most important thing is that this cultural exchange programme is regulated by the State Department of the U.S. Government and therefore provides safety for the University and for the young people who decide to have this experience in the United States at a very low cost, which will return many benefits.”

Theresa Au pair in Virginia “My time as an au pair has positively influenced my future career plans. Now I know that I want to work in a social or creative area. Applying to the au pair programme was very extensive and I learned a lot about how to present myself in the best possible way to impress future employers.”

"During my time as an au pair I lived in Boston. I had the opportunity to study Business Communication and International Relations at Harvard. Living with an American host family allowed me to learn about American culture. Being an au pair opened many doors for me: I am currently working for an International Business College in the United States as Director of Business for Latin America. Thanks to my work I have had the opportunity to travel to many countries."

Cultural exchange, professional experience and study abroad

We would love to discuss a way to work together so your students can learn about our cultural exchange programme in the USA and how it builds professional experience.
