raduated from The Guildhall School of Music and Drama with a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Piano (also with his handsome face), British Jazz rising star Anthony Strong, who premiered at Macau Jazz and Blues Festival in October, has been gaining strong applause since his debut. Out of what reasons did you choose Jazz at the first place (or the other way round)? You are right that it’s the other way round. When I was young I had been crazy about music. I would play the piano whenever I could. When I was 16 years old, I was, for the first time, wowed by a Jazz chord – that I couldn’t replicate – so I pledged to myself that I had to learn it! Besides Jazz, what genres of music do you like? I do enjoy pop music. Actually, I do enjoy a lot of music, such as gospel and soul. I listen to other genres regularly to keep myself inspired. I also like modernised classics.

lthough 2014, the year of horse, might seem an unlucky year for Malaysia, excellent singers of this wonderful tropical country have no difficulty becoming popular in mainland China as well as in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. Shila Amzah is the first Malaysian singer to enter the Chinese market, due largely to the TV program “I am a Singer”. Victor Wong used to be a member of “Michael &Victor”, which was praised as the most brilliant duet of its time. These two have now come to perform at the Galaxy Macau together. Is this your first time in Macau? What is your impression of the city? (Shila) This is the second time I have been here, but I haven’t had much time to explore. I’ve heard that bungee jumping off the Macau Tower is really exciting - I’d love to give it a try. (Victor) I’ve been able to come pretty often, and I like Macau very much. This is my third trip here this year. My wife is Taiwanese, so it’s very convenient to fly through Macau. I like the Portuguese food in Taipa very much. Macau is a city of leisure, an ideal place to stroll through. Shila, since your mother tongue is not Chinese, is it difficult for you to compose in Chinese? What has the TV program “I am a Singer” brought you? Yes, of course. I’m going to launch my new album of Chinese, which contains the Chinese songs I’ve composed. The TV program “I am a Singer” has allowed more Chinese people to get to know me. I communicate with them through micro blog. In my new album, I’ve composed a new song for my Chinese fans. Can you recommend some Malaysian cuisines to our readers? (Shila) Wow, there’s a lot! Nasi Lemak! And Nasi Biryani. My mouth is watering just talking about it. (Victor) There are numerous cuisines in Malaysia, but we can’t leave durian out! (Shila: Yes! In China durian is so expensive.) There is a saying: Malaysians will sell their sarongs for delicious durians! (Laughter)

The “Parade though Macao, Latin City”, organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau in celebration of the 15th Anniversary of Macao’s Handover to China, will be held on 14 December according to the concept “Peace, Love and Cultural Integration”. The event gathers local and foreign performing groups from different countries that will put on a show through characteristic streets of Macao in an unforgettable journey of cultural fusion under the motto “An Annual Celebration for the Entire City-VIVA”.

本届大巡游将会在十二月十四日下午四时在大三巴牌坊耶稣会纪念广场举 行“天际启航”开幕式，配合着造型奇幻的风筝与洗涤心灵的手铃合作演 出，展开一段奇幻之旅。在VIVA仔的引领下，来自世界各地、极具文化特色 的海内外艺术团体联同本地艺团起步，载歌载舞穿梭澳门大街小巷，发放正 能量到宇宙彼端。 本届大巡游邀请来自世界各地、超过五十个本地及外地艺团来澳演出，参演 人数共约二千人。本地艺团参演反应热烈，当中有不少为首次参与的艺团， 涵盖粤剧、剧场、音乐、武术、民族舞、东方舞等多元范畴。他们将纷纷各 献奇技，炮制本地特色演出。

This edition of the Parade takes place at 4 pm at the Ruins of St. Paul’s with VIVA’s “Launch into Space”, a joint performance featuring amazing kites and bells. Performing groups home and abroad parade through streets and alleys of Macao, singing, dancing and sending positive energy to the universe. Nearly two thousand performers are to perform. Local groups responded enthusiastically, with several groups debuting in the Parade, presenting Cantonese opera, theatre, music, martial arts, traditional and oriental dances, among others.

Several groups scrape the sky, namely the French Plasticiens Volants and the Spanish Cal y Canto Teatro with giant balloons and kites respectively; Portuguese Pauliteiros de Miranda, a group of traditional musicians. Also Spanish Batucada Villa Pipol drums to excite the crowd, while French L.O.S performs mystic masked dances. More, the Hunanese Tujia ethnic group, a National Intangible Cultural Heritage awardee, tells ancient stories of farming wearing boorish clothes, among traditional dances by the Group Folklore Sun Argentina, indigenous traditional dances from Taiwan, typical batik attire from Indonesia and from Latin American peoples, creative puppets by Hong Kong’s Fantasy Puppet Theatre, as well as acrobatic clowns and performers on stilts. The finale at Tap Seac Square is a grand joint performance of “Peace, Love and Cultural Integration” with a spaceship and a giant dragon: not to be missed. From 15:30 at Largo de Santo António, Rua de Sanches de Miranda and St. Lazarus’ Church Square, face painting will be offered for full enjoyment.

Amidst a troubled relationship with his father, Cheung grew up with the memories of his deceased mother and her promise to take him abroad. One day, he becomes a choir conductor and competes for the opportunity to represent Macao in an overseas contest. This is not easily accomplished, as Cheung must turn inexperienced choir members into a top-notch ensemble. With tender devotion, they give the best of themselves in pursuit of a passionate dream!

Let’s marvel with an enchanting, free flair of flamenco in a performance inspired by the sensual lines of Brazilian master architect Oscar Niemeyer. Spanish top choreographer and dancer Maria Pagés created Utopia a beautiful, intense piece which also that is also a reflection on the words of writers like Baudelaire, Benedetti or Saramago. Pagés’ company returns to Macao with an exquisite group of musicians and dancers who skilfully use their bodies, performing to the sound of both flamenco and Brazilian music, soulfully played and sung on stage. Beyond Pixels is the solo exhibition by local artist Victor Marreiros which consists of more than 40 works he created in almost a decade. He cites historical events and figures as inspiration, such as the 1974 Portugal Revolution, Macau non-smoking regulation and Camilo Pessanha, a famous writer living in Macau for years.
马伟达于澳门土生土长，自小就 受到不同文化的影响，所以其作 品中也融合了大量的中西元素。 在“Beyond Pixels”中展出的一 组15幅的《MR. HENRY》，红 色与黑色的对比、HENRY的清朝 官服、日本军服、扯线玩偶、手 拿毛泽东选集等多个造型让人觉 得既诙谐又讽刺。此外，以作家 Camilo Pessanha为题材的一系列 作品中你可以看到如笔挺西服、 鸦 片烟枪、中国半裸女子等大量中西 结合的元素。时而讽刺时而情色， 让人猜不透当中的意味。“我每次 作画前都会作大量资料搜集，当中 的历史元素就是产生于这个时候。 但我不会刻意向观者说出作品的意 味，倒是让观者有足够的空间与时 间自己去感受其中，你看到画作后 感觉是什么就是什么，这才是欣赏 的乐趣嘛。” As a native Macanese, Victor Marreiros showed how his art style was influenced by the multiple cultures of Macau. For example the MR. HENRY, a series of 15 paintings of contrasting colors of red and black, and mixed ironic elements such as governor uniform of Qing Dynasty, Japanese military uniform, puppet and people holding a Selected Works of Mao Zedong. While the series themed by Camilo Pessanha is the combination of irony and erotica, for example the suits, old opium pipe and half-naked Chinese women, demonstrated complicated and unpredictable applications. “I collected data, a lot of data beforehand. The history elements in the works are direct, but the meanings are not. I would rather give viewers enough space to free their imagination. It is what you think it is. That is the fun of enjoying art.” Marreiros said.

岭南印记——粤港澳考古成果展 Historical Imprints of Lingnan: Major Archaeological Discoveries of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao
澳门真细小，转角巷口却充满惊喜，而有这 么一群人，似远还近的生活在我们之中，他 们就是本土的艺术工作者。这群人看似神 秘，工作室更好像是公众不知的角落，这次 由疯堂十号创意园组织的两场“上门搵艺 术”会跟大家一同由疯堂十号创意园出发， 走访到艺术家的工作室。十二月的主角是 Aquino da Silva 阿坚奴，他是 澳门艺术工作 者，擅长手刻 字艺术(Hand Lettering)，书 法及铅笔精描 创作。
为向公众展示粤港澳考古事业的成绩，以及 体现三地在文化合作会议项目的合作成果， 广东省文化厅、香港特区政府民政事务局及 澳门特区政府文化局今年再度联合主办三地 巡迴展，并由广东省博物馆、香港历史博物 馆及澳门博物馆联合筹划《岭南印记——粤 港澳考古成果展》。展览集中展示粤港澳 多年来考古重要发现，并分“石器时代” 、“青铜时代”、“秦至南汉”以及“宋明时 期”四个部分展示。

Following the success of the earlier exhibition “Maritime Porcelain Road – Relics from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao,” the Department of Culture of Guangdong Province, the Home Affairs Bureau of the Hong Kong S.A.R. Indian Choice: Golden Peacock
Indian food is known for its strong, hot and intense taste thanks to the sauces made with various spices, which leave long-lasting prints on our taste buds. Tim’s Kitchen
The Chinese name translates to “Kitchen of Oasis” which is an apt way to describe this restaurant founded by Tim Li. Li opened his first restaurant in Hong Kong in 2000; Tim’s Kitchen is his second, opened in 2007. He was invited by gambling giants Stanley Ho and Angela Leong to bring his food to the Hotel Lisboa. It has been rated one-star for four successive years since 2012. Chef Li is not simply a chef, but THE chef who credits his unique skills to his master Li Cai. These men are both known for their inspiring food, for example the Supreme Snake Bisque which is only available from October to February.

otel Royal is located at the tranquil Guia residential area and faces a municipal garden and coliseum. Around the hotel are several schools, giving the neighbourhood a scholarly atmosphere. Shopping is just a few minutes’ walk, while local, unique souvenirs are nearby. It cannot be omitted how well-equipped the hotel is. There are 380 rooms with 15 suites. Hotel Royal is among the first phase of 5-star hotels in Macau, but the long history doesn’t make it appear antique, for it has gone through renovations. Now it is classily modern. The lobby, for instance, is white with yellowish highlight so there is a touch of warmth. Many athletes competing in Macau choose to stay at Hotel Royal not only because of the proximity

The caviar and fried eggs with trout-beetroot sandwich for Christmas, for example created by Chief Chef Guillaume Galliot is a unique combination of fried crabmeat and egg contained in eggshells covered by caviar. The chef even prepared teak spoons from Morocco to avoid contaminates the flavor of caviar. The fried venison with goose liver and maple syrup is also amazing matched by smooth liver, potato, sliced mushroom and cabbage for refreshing breaks, decorated by a gingersnap as a celebration of holiday. he highly anticipated annual tourism event, organized by the Macau Shopping Festival 2014 Organizing Committee and coorganized by the Macau Government Tourist Office, proudly returns for the fourth year spanning December 3rd – 31st, 2014. This year, a line-up of prestigious celebrities gathered at City of Dreams Macau’s Dancing Water Theatre to perform at the festival’s opening ceremony, kicking off this citywide winter celebration in grand style. This year, under the theme of “Lucky Draw Upon Arrival-Irresistible Shopping Offers-Citywide Celebrations” and the slogan “I Buy. Macau”, the Macau Shopping Festival aims to make this December a memorable occasion for both Macau locals and tourists from all over the world. The organizing committee has also introduced an innovative element this year - the event ambassador “Ola”, a little red panda, welcomes all travelers coming to Macau as well as promote the diversified beauty that is unique to this city.

By presenting any valid ferry or air ticket or immigration stamp, tourists can enter an instant lucky draw once. 葡萄牙人400多年前便把西方的天主 教信仰文化带进澳门，兴建了不少 天主教堂及修道院，直到现在澳门 仍沿用天主教堂区划分区域。澳门 的天主教堂随处可见，而且各有各 的独特风格，这个12月，就让我们 走进澳门的多间人气教堂，欣赏它 们的瑰丽雅致，了解澳门的天主教 文化以及历史。
玫瑰圣母堂（板樟堂）
St. Dominic’s Church
位于新马路议事亭前地附近的玫瑰堂是最为人熟悉的 澳门教堂之一，其明亮的鹅黄色外墙饰以白色精致图 腾以及大型绿色百叶窗每日都吸引世界各地的游人驻 足游览。这座巴洛式风格的教堂创建于1587年。是西 班牙圣多明我会在中国设立的第一所教堂，初建时教 堂以木板搭成，所以华人把它称之为“板樟堂”。直 到17世纪才以砖石改建成现在的规模。此外，由于教 堂供奉的是玫瑰圣母，故也有玫瑰圣母堂之称。玫瑰 圣母堂除了有美丽的外观以外，里面的祭坛也被喻为 澳门最美丽祭坛之一，弯曲的线脚烘托断山花，形成 华美的巴洛克风格；室内的大型百叶窗则使教堂室内 更加明亮。
The history of Catholic churches in Macau could be tracked back to four centuries ago when Catholic Religion was introduced by Portugal. Other than the distinct architecture styles, there are also stories of culture and history behind the religious heritages.

he St. Dominic’s Church near the Largo do São Domingos is one of the most popular churches in Macau by its bright yellow façade, white patterns and green shutters which allow sunshine to spread in the whole interior. As the first St. Dominic church in China worshiping Our Lady of Rosemary, it was originally built in 1587 by wooden boards before being rebuilt by stones and bricks in 1700s to its current architecture. It also boasts the most beautiful altar of typical baroque style by its curving lines and broken pediment.

主教座堂（大堂）
Cathedral 圣母圣诞主教座堂也称为 大堂，另外还有一个老澳 门都熟悉的名字“大庙” ，因为昔日的华人常把西 方的教堂称为庙，所以 教堂前地则称为“大庙 顶”。大堂主体为一层， 是由坡屋顶及木屋架组 成，旁边的钟楼则是平屋 顶，且分为三层。教堂主 面对称，顶高约12米， 两旁钟楼为三层，高约 13米，中间是三段式的 构图，三扇门、三扇窗和 三角形山花，以横线条为 主。教堂旁的大钟是英国 制造的，为的是纪念葡 王伯多禄五世当年荣登王 位，具有十分重要的历史 价值。 教堂主殿左右两边各有一 个耳堂和一个祈祷室，其 中最古老的耳堂采用木拱

顶，供奉贞节圣母。主祭 坛空间深远，而祭坛下面 掩埋着16和17世纪的主 教和圣徒遗骨。室内平 顶的天花，两侧墙上的高 窗以及简洁的装饰皆表现 出新古典手法的特色。此 外，教堂入口处的木制葡 国屏风、教堂内部的圣像 以及彩色玻璃窗都是有价 值的历史文物。每年圣诞 节踏入凌晨零时，在大堂 举办的子夜弥撒便开始， 一众神职人员恭敬地举起 象征圣婴耶稣的圣像，徐 徐步入教堂，圣诞钟声响 遍全城。子夜弥撒由天主 教澳门教区主教主持，带 领信众和市民祈祷，伴以 嘹亮诗歌、悠扬圣乐以及 动人的宗教故事，无论你 是何种信仰都一定会被其 庄严气氛所感染。

he Cathedral has two parts: a one-floor main building of 12 m with a wooden-framed slope roof and a front façade in symmetry, three-floor bell tower of 13m with a flat roof decorated by horizontal lines. The valuable bell reserved in the tower was made in Britain to celebrate Pedro V of Portugal taking the throne. The nave where the bones of the Saints in 1600s and 1700s are buried at the left side of the main building is also roofed by wood, worshipping the Nativity of Our Lady, while a praying room takes the left side. The Neo Classical style of the building is decorated minimally, but the tinted glasses, the icons and the wooden screen from Portugal are of high historical values. The church is known by its large-scale mass started from the midnight of Christmas with the resonant sounds of bells. It is a moving moment to be involved with the solemn atmosphere created by music and prays, whether you are religious or not.
望德圣母堂
St. Lazarus Church 望德圣母堂又称圣拉匝禄堂，建于1557年至1560年 间，是澳门三座最古老的教堂之一。曾用于收治麻风 病人的医院，后根据麻风病人守护圣人圣拉匝而命 名。尽管教堂自落成以来，曾经进行了几次不同规模 的扩建和修复工作，尤其是在1885年，但一路走来， 教堂总体基本上保持着原来的风貌。教堂庭院中的希 望十字架尤其令人瞩目，自竖立在这里后，始终未曾 改变过。 First established between 1557 and 1560, St. Lazarus Church is one of the three oldest churches in Macau. Initially named the Hermitage of Our Lady of Hope, the church was used as a hospital for those suffering from leprosy and soon came to be known as St. Lazarus after the patron saint of lepers. Although the church has undergone various extensions and renovations, particularly in 1885, the building has remained virtually the same throughout the years. A notable aspect of the church is the original Cross of Hope that stands in the structure’s courtyard.

圣安多尼堂是澳门三大古老教堂之一，教堂早期经历 烈火洗礼，现在我们看到的是1930年重修后的样貌。 圣安多尼被视为婚姻掌门人，在教堂门前的石碑上刻 有“他是天主教徒所奉的婚姻之神”，不少信徒都选 择在这圣堂举行婚礼。由于外国婚礼的习俗大多时候 会手持鲜花，所以圣安多尼教堂也被澳门本地人称为 花王堂。

St. Anthony’s Church is one of the oldest churches in Macau. The church was reconstructed for several times, while the present appearance and scale of the church dates back to 1930. St. Anthony has been also regarded as patron saint of marriage in western countries; many people will choose to hold the wedding ceremonies here. The brides will hold lots of flowers to the wedding ceremony, so it was given the Chinese name of Fa Vong Tong (Church of Flowers).

Built in the mid-16th century, St. Lawrence’s Church is one of the oldest churches in Macau. Situated on the southern coastline of Macau, where can overlook the sea, it was a gathering place for the families of Portuguese sailors. They gather on the front steps of the church to pray and wait for their families’ return (in Chinese means return home safely), hence it was given the nice Chinese name: Feng Shun Tang, which literally translates as ‘hall of soothing wind’.

Our Lady of Carmo Church at the Largo do Carmo was built in 1885 and is the only Catholic Church in Taipa. It has a special style of gravity in spite of the simple façade in beige. The design of placing a choir underneath a bell room on the top has an excellent sound effect. Beside the main altar worshipping Our Lady of Carmo, the icons of Jesus is on the left while St. Joseph on the right. The vicinity also has a smaller building, a garden, and, interestingly, the marriage registry of Macau, a convenience for the new couples to have a wedding here.

位于氹仔嘉模前地的嘉模圣母堂是氹仔唯一的天主教 堂，建于1885年，主要是为了方便氹仔教徒的宗教 活动而建。嘉模圣母堂一共楼高三层，外形古朴，设 计简单，没有任何华丽的装饰却给人感觉庄严肃穆。 教堂外墙粉以米黄色，顶部是一个小钟楼，下面是唱 诗台，这样的巧妙设计能令声音从教堂高处传下，回 荡四周。中间的主祭台上，置有嘉模圣母像，此外还 有两个侧祭台，左方为耶稣，右方为圣若瑟，而在教 堂入口左方的小堂，同样置有嘉模圣母像。教堂旁边 建有公园，并且种有植物、设有石亭、石凳供游人休 息。 另外值得一提的是，教堂对面就是办理婚姻登记 的澳门民事登记局，所以嘉模圣母堂是教徒们举行婚 礼的热点之一。

谈到人气教堂，当然少 不了远离市区的路环海 边的圣方济各圣堂。圣 堂建于1928年，外墙以 淡黄色及白色为主椭圆 形的窗户、钟楼搭配明 亮的蓝色小门，周围是 旧有的村民小屋，给人 一种详和宁静的感觉。 教堂内部除正堂以外， 还设有左右两间小室， 小室之内存放了多件宗 教圣物。而挂在侧堂墙 壁上的两幅画，分别是 耶稣及一个中国传统女 神的大画像，画像中的 女神样貌端庄，怀抱小 孩，实际上是一个中国 化的圣母像，体现了澳 门的中西文化共融。
The Chapel of St. Francis Xavier was built in 1928 at Coloane away from the city center. It is a building of tranquility and peace by its pastel yellow and white color of façade, oval windows, bright blue gates and a bell room on the top. The two small rooms by the two sides are used for storing religious relics. The more interesting part of the interior is the two paintings of Jesus and a Chinese goddess holding a child in her arms, a Chinese version of St. Mary.

What is your favorite Macanese dish? Definitely Minchi! Simple to cook, easy to eat, and if done correctly, just spectacular. Where would you recommend someone to go to experience what the real Macau? For sure Estrada de Adolfo Loureiro. The tourists never go there, and there are lots of small local businesses, food, and boutiques. One of my favorite shops, Couch Potato, is situated just there. Wandering down the street takes you places like the Lou Lim Ieoc Gardens, Tap Seac Square, and the Three Lamps Market, and offers a refreshing glimpse of what Macau really feels. For the gourmand, what are some of the best souvenirs one can give from Macau? I would consider some of the hand-made jams from Quinta do Freixo (White Pumpkin is our favorite) or wild boar pate from Quinta de Jugais, both available at the Portuguese Corner Shop, and even better, a bag of locally roasted coffee from THS Honolulu. Almond cookies and egg tarts are for the tourists. If there were one advice you would give travelers visiting Macau, what would it be? Be careful when you cross the roads. While in Macau, there are a group of persistent female artists who hold the same attitude of never being too late to start, devoting their spare time to the art of ceramics in Sky & Earth Ceramic Gallery in the Iao Son Industrial Building.

醉心艺术不分年纪 之前曾经见过天地陶艺的日本 神级陶艺大师吉川正道举办陶 艺展的消息，奈何协会太低 调，很多人光知道讯息而错过 了展览。Margaret（谢蕙芳） 是天地陶艺的中坚分子，已届 退休年龄的她已经醉心陶艺10 多年。澳门天地陶艺学会隐藏 在提督马路的工厦内，有整整 一层的空间，除了诺大的展览 场馆外，不同的小房间就分租 给各个领域的艺术家，这里面 有绘画艺术家也有陶艺和木雕 艺术工作者，当然也有开放一 些课堂帮补。和Margaret拍档 的Grace（刘燕云）学习陶艺的 时间更长，超过20年“陶龄” 的她有点可惜地说，因为屋主 把房租加了好几倍，所以可能 这群艺术家在明年就要面临 被“逼迁”的命运。 协会里的艺术家像一家人般保 持紧密交流，在澳门很多展 览场地都会经常发现他们进 行着各种各样c r o s s o v e r 的展 览。G r a c e 的作品透出浓浓的 童真，摆放在陈列区出售的作 品里最受欢迎的彩绘小象就是 她的作品，小小的象看上去并 不特别，胆识其实非常考心 思，因为它们身上的所有色彩
和花纹都是不同的！这次她在 理工的台澳交流展中也交出一 系列用白瓷来制作的重头戏作 品——花生show，同样是玩 不同花纹图案。Margaret的涉 猎也很广，除了陶瓷，她还喜 欢木雕，甚至不惜成本从国内 采购木材，一雕就是一年多。 她的很多作品都有意味深长的 女性主题，更笑言自己的偶像 正是毕加索。一个个女性的特 征器官在她的作品中被抽象化 地放大，温柔而坚忍的特性渗 透其中，新作品“别带走我呼 吸”更是深刻描绘出现代双职 女性面对的各种让人近乎窒息 的烦恼，裙摆上满布的眼睛， 正是那一双双紧逼盯人的“世 俗目光”。 天地陶艺常常会举办值得一看 的展览，艺术家们半掏腰包， 半靠政府资助，将他们喜欢的 事情，也呈现给志同道合的观 众。一直做着不赚钱甚至亏钱 的事，值得吗？正如驻扎在陶 艺协会多年的另一个艺术家邓 锦珊说的：喜欢一样东西，没 有道理的。所以喜欢就成为了 最大的理由和支持他们一直走 的最大动力，这也是很多澳门 艺术家目前的生存状况，能80 岁都坚持自己所爱，不是应该 值得骄傲吗？
Sky and Earth is so low-profile that the exhibition of Yoshikawa Masamichi, a legendary ceramics artist in Japan, was missed by many art fans. It is hidden in Iao Son Ind. Bld. on Avenida do Almirante Lacerda,, and occupies the entire fifth floor. The gallery comprises a large exhibition hall and small rooms for different artists to show off their paintings, ceramics, and wood carvings. Margaret and Grace are two of the key artists here, and between them have more than 30 years of experience in ceramics work. Their art may not be on display here for long, as talks of relocating the art exhibition for next year are in the works. The artists in gallery are as intimate as family members, presenting diversified crossover exhibitions. Grace is known for her innocent yet exquisite works such as the popular painted baby elephants for sale in the exhibition hall. It is actually quite intricate work in spite of their plain looks, because each elephant has a unique color and pattern. The Peanut Show she created for the mentioned MPI exhibition was also a master
play of patterns, injecting unique spirit of life into each white prototype. As for Margaret, the world of wood carving has recently attracted her attention, and she has devoted more than a year to working with beautiful and priceless wood pieces from abroad. Most of her works have profound female themes by abstractly overstating body characteristics of women to highlight the tenderness, perseverance and endurance which characterize the gender. Her recent Don’t Take Away My Breath, for example, vividly displayed the suffocated troubles of the modern working mother. The eyes printed on the shirts are a metaphor for the stressful prying eyes of the crowd. Most of the quality exhibitions here are funded by a combination of the Macau government and the artists themselves. Though it may be surprising that these artists not only make no money, but often operate at a loss, Deng Jinshan attests that it is truly a labor of love. This senior member of the gallery says that he and his comrades just like doing it - it is the biggest and strongest drive for the artists of the gallery and the whole town to move forward.

在酒店度过一个既舒适又宁静的晚上，想必养精蓄 锐、精神饱满，而身体也应该要补充一点能量了吧！ 来到澳门真的不愁美食，也不管你住在哪一区，就是 去哪都很方便，例如今次由Soler介绍的星际酒店品味 坊，位处酒店16楼，美食不在话下，最好就是有景观 的衬托，胃口也大开。而且，品味坊也刚刚成为“米 其林”2015年推荐餐厅，更值得你前往尝鲜。 品味坊的主厨Joe哥从前跟随葡国厨师学艺，及后也服 务过几家葡国餐厅，所以品质必定有保证。例如Joe哥 亲身上阵烹煮制作的“葡式海鲜饭”，就用上传统的 做法，用Joe哥的说话来说：“传统菜式就是要用传统 上的材料，表现形式上怎样变化都可以，但材料一定 不能改变。”所以，现时来到品味坊，尽管未必试到 Joe哥亲制的海鲜饭，但一定会知道传统的海鲜饭是何 模样。 材料不变形式变，Joe哥的“柠檬挞”可算是另一表表 者。从外观上看，你一点也看不出它是柠檬挞，但一 咬下去你就懂了。柠檬酱与挞皮上下对调，吃来口感 清新滋味，是创新之余又清新味蕾的甜品。 中午时段（12:00-14:30），品味坊更推出午市半自 助餐，当中的日式刺身、寿司、冷盘、沙律、甜品和 生果无限供应，并包括即点即制餐汤及头盘，菜式每 两、三天转换一次，保持新鲜感。每位只需澳门币 188（另加一服务费）。
After a peaceful and comfortable night in the hotel, our bodies are screaming for energy before embarking on the road. But they are easy to be pleased in Macau where everywhere is easily accessible, especially in terms of food. The Soler selected Temptations for lunch which had been suggested by the Michelin magazine this year for its cuisines. Locating on the 16th floor also means you can treat both your appetite and eyes. Chief Chef Joe is the guarantee of quality by his rich experience in Portugal dishes. Guided by his concept of “traditional ingredients should be strictly kept whatever change of style”, the kitchen never failed your expectation of real Portugal flavors, for example the Portugal Seafood Rice. Keeping tradition however does not mean Joe is lack of creativeness. The Lemon tart, for example is surprisingly refreshing though it looks nothing but a tart. The semi-buffet lunch at only MOP 188 (12:00-14:30) supply endless sashimi, sushi, hors d’oeuver, salad, desert and fruit. The dishes will be rotated every two to three days for a brand new food experience.

经过第二天的游玩，大伙儿都应该肚子饿了，又是时 候想想吃什么。Soler这次就带我们回到英皇娱乐酒 店，品尝美味自助餐。 自助餐最明显的优点，是普罗大众都会找到自己喜欢 的美味，各适其式。例如Soler本身较为西化，美味的 牛排就是他们的挚爱（看封面那张图切得多开心）。 然而，小编就比较喜欢海鲜、刺身这些，在英皇的御 厨自助晚餐，这些喜爱的我们都能找到。 这里的海鲜种类齐备，带子、青口算是基本盘，最吸 引的点是有原只螃蟹，加上不限食量，只要你肚子 装得下，都能拿。另外，餐厅也有原块现切牛肉， 同样地，只要你吃得下，想拿多少就多少。正因如 此，Soler两子兴奋非常。牛排旁边还有原只烧乳猪。 用上相对西式的做法，口味更特别。 除此之外，御厨提供不少熟食，让较为传统的朋友也 有适合的选择，当中也有很多传统小菜，在酒店自助 餐算是比较有特色。汤、沙拉、面包等是必备菜式， 质素也不错。 特别要提你的是御厨提供“任吃”哈根达斯冰淇淋， 整个冰箱填得满满，自助餐过程中也是有专人不断添 加，让所有人吃到够、吃到饱。 另外，即日起至本月14日，御厨推出“美国狂热”自 助晚餐，只需澳门币278起即可一次品尝不同的美式“ 疯”味，包括美国连骨牛排、约克布丁、美式冻鸡卷 等，大胃王怎么可以错失机会？
An eat-to-full buffet is the best option of dinner after a long day of touring around. Soler brothers knew where to enjoy the best: Royal Kitchen in the Grand Emperor Hotel. Buffet is perfect for group dinners to please the appetite of everyone. Soler, as their faces suggested, is more steak guys, while I enjoy those deep in the sea. That is why we are all beamed with smiles here in front of the gorgeous buffet. When I am devouring the superb collections of seafood including the various kinds of shellfishes and seasonal crabs, the twins are, of course gulping juicy steaks. What a pity that we only have a so tiny stomach for so many delicious choices. The roasted suckling pig is also suggested due to its unique western cooking style. The delis and traditional side dishes are distinctive according to our experiences, especially nice for those prefer more traditional dinners. Other necessary food for example soups, salad and bread are all well prepared. The Royal Kitchen also offers literally endless HaagenDazs, the freezer has never been left empty by timely refill. Come for a night of American Fever before 14th, Dec. at only MOP 278 for a buffet of American specials such as the T-bone steak, York pudding and frozen chicken rolls.

近年一直在香港以及内地工作的Soler难得抽空回澳 门，最想念的当然是这个小城独有的美食——澳葡 菜，所以第一站就直奔位于澳门皇朝广场、有十多年 历史的澳葡菜餐厅“葡萄园”。 “葡萄园”以葡国酒窖为设计意念，所以在餐厅里你 会发现特别的拱门、红土地砖、壁炉、米黄色的墙 壁、酒桶等装饰；而餐厅两旁的窗边建有柚木地台， 木柱型的栏杆、路灯及围栏，搭配餐厅顶部那一串串 蜿蜒的葡萄藤，让进入餐厅的人马上感到欧陆田园的 悠闲步调。 曾主持美食节目的Soler尽管尝过各地美食，但当尝 试到餐厅的葡式烧乳猪时，也大赞其脆而不干，肥而 不腻的口感令人印象深刻，这时，当然不能错过向大 厨民哥讨教的机会。拥有二十多年经验的民哥表示这 烧猪选自越南，以蒜蓉、洋葱及白酒等材料腌制10小 时以上才可以放进烤炉烤制，所以吃起来味道香口至 极，是吸引众多食客专程到餐厅一试再试之选。值得 一提的是，订座时最好先说明要葡式烧乳猪，因为即 场烤制的乳猪需时30分钟以上哦。 餐厅还有马六甲咖喱蟹，混合了30多种香料的马六甲 咖喱加上超大的新鲜大螃蟹一起煮，入口香而不辣， 且每一口都饱含蟹肉鲜味。非洲烤鸡、薯蓉忌廉焗马 介休、碳烧美国肉眼扒都是必试的经典菜式。此外， 餐厅存有多种不同年份、等级的红葡萄酒，还有各款 砵酒、白酒、香槟及果味汽酒等佳酿任君选择。
The SOLER brothers have been in a tight schedule recently since they transferred their career focus to HK and the Mainland. No wonder their first destination is VINHA at Dynasty Plaza, a Portuguese restaurant boasting more than a decade of history. Led by the rails and street lamps, you will find yourself standing in front of the entrance topped by clusters of grape vines and teak platforms by the windows at both side of the building. Inspirations came from wine cellar are everywhere inside, for example the unique arch, red floor tile, fireplace, beige wall and baskets. As former hosts of a gourmet program, SOLER was impressed by the Roast Suckling Pig of VINHA which was just right in every criterion. When being asked for some secret of recipe, the Chef explained that the dish was ranked as a signature in the menu for a good reason: the suckling pig from Vietnam will not be roasted in the oven (at least 30 mins) until being seasoned by garlic, onion, spirit and other spices for 10 hours. It also explained why guests that come for it is suggested to make reservation. Other suggestions include Malacca Curry Crab using more than 30 seasonings, African Roast Chicken, Shredded Baked Bacalhau Served with Toasted Bread and BBQ American Rib Eye Steak. To make it even better, there are also selected collections of wines, Porto, spirit, champagne and fruit sparkling wine to match the gorgeous dishes.

A little not-so-secret: Soler – Dino and Julio – have local taste buds because they were born and raised here in Macau! 刚刚提到，Soler两子是澳门土生土长的，他们的父亲 是意大利裔、母亲则是缅甸裔，两子非常好学，深得两 地文化之精粹，同时也非常爱澳门，哥哥更笑说一回来 澳门听到特别的澳门口音粤语，就觉得真正回到家了。 Cguide对于他们小时候吃的圣诞餐很好奇，由于他们较 为西化，而澳门的葡萄牙文化又那么源远流长，所以 当时吃的圣诞餐会很葡式吗？他们说：“小时候澳门的 葡国餐厅没现在这么多，所以我们其实不怎么吃葡国 餐。”那意大利餐呢？“虽然爸爸是意大利人，但他比 较少下厨，反而妈妈比较多”，Soler笑着补充。 “爸爸以前会做些很道地、很家常的意大利菜，在外面 餐厅很难吃到。例如有一道用猪油膜包着食材来煮的 菜，在外面餐厅就没见过了。”他们边吃边说。 话匣子开了（其实Soler一向健谈），又眼见桌上的澳 葡名菜非洲鸡，香口微辣。很多歌手都说戒辣是养声的 技巧，我们也八卦一下Soler是否有这层饮食要求，“ 我们又没有这层顾虑，因为妈妈的缅甸背景，小时候已 在饭菜中加入缅甸香料，当中有些是辣的，所以我们小 时候就习惯吃辣（缅甸菜以辣著名）。如果一直有吃辣 的，习惯了就好”，他们如是说。 这次Soler回澳带我们周围走，也遇到不少新知旧雨， 例如星际酒店的总厨Joe哥，三人在厨房一拍即合，他 也刚好就是Soler中学的学长（澳门人说的，都是“粤 华仔”)，三人在席间大谈学生时期的趣事，那浓浓的 人情味再次浮现，明星也不例外。既然这么合拍，Joe 哥立马邀请Soler二子进入酒店厨房重地，一睹Joe哥的 神秘葡式海鲜饭，这道菜要窥探其真身绝对不容易，因 为它可是连CNN都大力推崇的澳门必试菜式啊！ 二子做起来有板有眼，因为年轻时在意大利有入厨经 验，之前也跟肥妈等人主持过不少饮食节目，烹煮绝 对难不到Soler，“那时候在意大利生活，就我们兄弟 俩，如果不自己弄就是到外面吃。刚巧邻居老人家很有 心，担心我们年轻不懂做菜，所以特别邀请我们到她家 厨房跟她好好学”。听他们说，那时候才十八九岁而 已。 想知道Soler还带我们去了哪些餐厅？快翻开后页细 阅。
