BY: CAMILA CUTILLO Most heart attacks occur because of high cholesterol and clogged arteries. These two can cause atherosclerosis, to which hypertension is also a contributor. Hypertension is when someone has high blood pressure. But what causes high blood pressure? - Yes, the potential reason could be due to stressful situations. But, stress does not necessarily mean having a lot of work. Let me give you an easy example. If the person you like texts you, you start overthinking and making scenarios up in your head.
This makes it a stressful situation. You would think, “Oh my god, I am going to have a heart attack!” But, there's a certain reason why we link heart attacks to stress to response reactions. Of course, before this connection was confirmed, there was one person who thought to research further. Dr. Marie Maynard Daly, the first African American woman in the United States to earn a Ph.D. in Chemistry, was among the first to make such a discovery. 9.
