Donwan Harrell — Genius denim connoisseur Donwan Harrell of US-based luxury menswear outfit Prps adds his own brand of design magic, bringing confident finishes and exciting visual washes to the party. “The opportunity to work with Lee® is both an honour and a career highlight. For over 15 years I have devoted my life as a denim designer to bring innovation to jeans, yet never forgetting to pay homage to the pioneers. To work in conjunction with Lee®, one of the denim forefathers, has been enriching and inspirational. Lee®’s extensive history facilitated the successful completion of the collaboration. Emma Fr ançois — Emma François, founder of Parisian womenswear brand Sessùn, works with Lee® to bring her refined, upscale design to the project. Finding inspiration in distant cultures, music, art and secondhand culture, it might be a tiny fragment, or subtle discovery, on which the collection is built. As such, Emma’s focus is firmly on the detail, an approach shared by Lee®. “Very attached to knowledge, know-how and textile tradition, passionate about indigo and denim, Emma hosted the 125-Collection with enthusiasm. The pieces created in this capsule collection, called ‘work and folk’, are the perfect meeting of the Sessùn’s delicate and feminine style, and the Lee®’s quality and denim knowledge.”

Launched in 2009, the design of the line is supervised by the creative trio of sisters Carol and Sarah Piron and photographer Gregory Derkenne. Achingly cool. Filles à Papa is an emblem for girls who assume their paradoxes and their hybrid culture. Duality is at the core of collections, the boundaries collapse between masculine and feminine, rough and refined to create a fresh and unconventional style. Synonym of coolness, the label quickly strikes international press and public’s attention, the collections are desired by celebrities and retailed by some of the most coveted stores. To celebrate Lee®’s 125th year birthday, Filles à Papa revisit some of Lee®’s emblematic denim pieces with its original signature. As a key element of the capsule collection, sequin adorn/kiss painted slogans and working outfits in a laid back sportswear spirit.
