Information

ACCOMMODATION

Tourism businesses throughout the county strive to provide the highest standards of both quality and customer service to ensure you have a special and memorable visit.

Accommodation featured in this guide has been assessed to either the National Quality Assurance Standards (star rated schemes), assessed under our local initiative Quality Cumbria, or have signed the Cumbria Tourism Quality Accommodation Charter.

NATIONAL QUALITY ASSURANCE STANDARDS

There are two national assessing bodies, VisitEngland and the AA. Properties are given a quality rating of 1-5 stars and display one of the following marques.

These quality ratings indicate the overall accommodation standard, cleanliness, ambience, hospitality, service and quality of food. Generally, the higher star rating, the higher the quality and the greater the range of facilities and services offered for each category.
