Towns like Sedbergh, Ulverston, Kirkby Lonsdale and Cockermouth are a mere stone’s throw from independent food and drink stockists, all of which offer local food – both savoury and sweet. Locally produced confectionery is on offer at every turn. There’s even a chance to become a Cumbrian food producer yourself, at cookery schools and even a chocolate factory.

Here in Cumbria, it’s no overstatement to say that visitors really are spoilt for choice. Put even more simply, whatever takes your fancy; we can guarantee your taste buds will approve.
