Eclogue, Op. 10 — Gerald Finzi

GREETING INTROIT CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 34:1-3 (In Unison)

HYMN (found on page six) AFFIRMATION OF FAITH

CELEBRATION OF THE SAINTS THE LORD'S PRAYER

O How Glorious Is the Kingdom — Fred Gramman O how glorious is the kingdom in which all the saints rejoice with Christ. I will extol the Lord at all times; His praise will always be on my lips. I will glory in the Lord; Let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the Lord with me; Let us exalt his name together. #711 For All the Saints — SINE NOMINE I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. (Necrology is found on page 9.) Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

WE HEAR THE WORD PROCLAIMED CANTICLE

Steal Away — arr. Howard Helvey Steal away, steal away, steal away to Jesus. Steal away, steal away home, I ain't got long to stay here. My Lord, He calls me, He calls me by the thunder. The trumpet sounds within-a my soul. I ain't got long to stay here.

SCRIPTURE Revelation 7:9-17

After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.” All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying: “Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!” Then one of the elders asked me, “These in white robes—who are they, and where did they come from?” I answered, “Sir, you know.” And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore, “they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence. ‘Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat down on them,’ nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; ‘he will lead them to springs of living water.' ‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’ ” (NIV) This is the word of God for the people of God. Thanks be to God.

WE RENEW OUR COMMITMENT INVITATION TO OFFERING OFFERTORY

I Am Bound for the Promised Land — arr. Craig Courtney On Jordan's stormy banks I stand, and cast a wishful eye to Canaan's fair and happy land where my possessions lie. I am bound for the promised land; oh, who will come and go with me? I am bound for the promised land. Oh, the transporting rapturous scene that rises to my sight! Sweet fields arrayed in living green, and rivers of delight! Filled with delight, my raptured soul would here no longer stay. Though Jordan's waves around me roll, fearless, I'd launch away.

PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING

We give thanks for the saints who have gone before us witnessing the life of a disciple. Their faith inspires us, even to this day. Receive our offering, 0 Lord. We give you thanks for the blessings which you have bestowed upon us. We pray these gifts, the employment of our talents, the labor of our hands, the prayers of our hearts, and the witness of our lives will show the world the magnitude of your love and grace. Let us put you first in our lives. Use us this week to build your Kingdom. We ask this in the name of Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God now and forever more. Amen.

BENEDICTION

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious unto you. May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. Amen.

BENEDICTION RESPONSE

Hallelujah — Shawn Kirchner Give joy or grief, give ease or pain, take life or friends away. But let me find them all again in that eternal day. You'll sing hallelujah when we arrive at home.

VOLUNTARY

To the Lamb on the Throne — Dan Forrest Worthy the Lamb. Ye servants of God, your master proclaim and publish abroad His wonderful name; the name all victorious of Jesus extol; His kingdom is glorious and rules over all. "Salvation to God who sits on the throne!" let all cry aloud and honor the Son; the praises of Jesus the angels proclaim, fall down on their faces and worship the Lamb. God rules in the height, almighty to save, though hid from our sight, His presence we have, the great congregation, His triumph shall sing, ascribing salvation to Jesus our King. Then let us adore and give Him His right, all glory and power and wisdom and might, all honor and blessing with angels above, and thanks never ceasing and infinite love.

Angel Tree is back, but like everything else in 2020, it looks a bit different. Adopting an Angel will be all digital this year. All of our angels are listed in the Google Form linked below where you can scroll through and select the angel(s) you'd like to adopt. If shopping isn't in your comfort zone this year, there's a new option to sponsor an angel. You may sponsor an angel by making a donation which will be used to purchase the gifts for that child. If the digital sign-up is out of your comfort zone, you can contact Holly Lee (336-712-9491) and she will help you select an angel. Gifts can be dropped off on Friday, December 4 from 9 am - 1 pm, Sunday, December 6 from 1 - 5pm, and Monday, December 7 from 11:30 am - 3:30 pm by coming by The Haven. Volunteers will collect the gifts from your car and bring them inside. More specifics about gift drop-off will be sent to you when you sign up for an angel. In addition to your gifts, we are looking for volunteers. Volunteers are needed to shop for sponsored angels, assist with gift drop-off and organizing, as well as getting gifts to our partner organizations. If you are interested in volunteering for any of these roles or have any questions regarding the Angel Tree, contact Jeanette Juran (jjuran@centenary-ws.org/336-724-6311 ext. 1332). We are excited to continue supporting kids in our community through this ministry.
