#428 For the Healing of the Nations — CWM RHONDDA
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord: who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

YOU CAN HELP FEED HUNGRY STUDENTS IN OUR AREA Did you know that we partner with Brunson Elementary, Wiley Middle School, Reynolds High School and the Winston Salem Street School to help fill their food pantries? At Reynolds and the Winston Salem Street School, we help stock food pantries where students can “go shopping” for food at school to take home. At Brunson and Wiley, we partner with them through the Backpack Program. If you’d like to partner with us in helping these students gain access to food over the weekends, you can do so through prayer, financial support, and volunteering to transport backpacks to schools! For more information, please contact Anna Thomas (athomas@centenary-ws.org/ext. 1332). If you or someone you know could benefit from Stephen Ministry, please contact Deena Morgan (336-692-2314), Wilba Brady (336-723-6236), Rev. Craig Ford (336-724-6311 ext. 1353). As followers of Christ, we believe we are invited to go out into our community, and the world at large, to be the hands and feet of Jesus though mission work and serving others! Each summer our Youth Ministry goes out into the world, serving the Lord, in two different places. Our ‘ALL Youth’ in Mission Trip (6th-12th graders) head to Mountain TOP (Tennessee Outreach Project) June 16-22, 2024, and our Senior High Mission (9th-12th graders) Trip partners with YouthWorks to work in a different city or country every July. Next year we will be headed to Niagara Falls, NY, July 20-27, 2024. These trips are life-changing, giving you the opportunity to encounter Jesus and truly live out the Gospel message to “love God and love Neighbor.”

You will not go through this class alone; you will pick a Shepherd (a faithful adult spiritual companion from our church) who will walk beside you all throughout your Confirmation. There will be several field trips, two retreats, lots of meals, and space to ask all your questions to help us grow. YOUTH SUNDAY SCHOOL From now until Advent we will be exploring Compassion from the Inside Out. Sometimes in the bustle and energy that comes with making a difference, it can be easy for all of us to focus on action and forget that compassion calls us to interaction – with God and with those who are struggling in the world around us. Yet compassion and prayer go hand and hand: the process of growing in Christlike compassion is nurtured through reflection and listening – both to God’s word and the experiences of those around us.
