WORSHIP BAGS
You may have noticed the bright new worship bags when you come to church! These are located in the Reception Narthex, the Sanctuary Narthex, and outside of the Sanctuary on the east side in the stairwell. We create and offer these with children in mind – we know it’s hard to sit still so we wanted to give them tools to help them engage in the service and things to do with their hands while they listen. At the end of each service, we ask that you return the bags to one of the three stands around the church so they can be refreshed for the next week.

“Where are the dinosaurs in the Bible? Are the people in the Bible real people? Why did my dog die?” Kids ask great questions about faith, but they are not always easy to answer! We are inviting parents to a night where Glenn Kinken and Kate May will help you tackle some of these tough questions of faith so that you can feel empowered to have great conversations with your kids. The evening will include dinner and table conversation. Dinner and activities will be available for kids at the same time so you won’t need to get a babysitter! Centenary has partnered with Samaritan Ministries to volunteer for their Dinner shifts from 4-7:30 pm every Sunday during the months of September and November. Each shift needs three volunteers, so ask a few friends to join you for a fun filled afternoon of volunteering at Samaritan! ART IN THE ATRIUM RECEPTION TODAY
Join Art in the Atrium after 11:00 AM worship as we celebrate our opening exhibit by famed artist Nicholas Burton Bragg. From 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM in the Atrium Gallery and Commons, guests will have the opportunity to meet Nick and hear about his tremendous work while enjoying his art and some refreshments. Music & Arts Ministry invites submissions from both youth and adults for our upcoming community exhibit, “Peace, Hope & Joy: A Neighborhood Showcase.” Art will be displayed in the Atrium and 4 ½ Street Galleries from November 1, 2023, to January 28, 2024. The inspiration for this holiday season showcase is Galatians 5:22: “Among the fruits of the Spirit are love, joy and peace.”

CREATIVE ARTS EXPERIENCE
CMA is proud to introduce Creative Arts Experience, a part of NOURISH every Wednesday, beginning this Wednesday, September 13!
Programming includes activities for children ages 2 through 5th grade. CAE will immerse young people in a wideranging program which will include singing, ringing, Orff, Kindermusik (ages 2-Kindergarten), drumming, visual arts, drama, and more! This experience will engage children with various levels of musical and artistic interests, all while cultivating more regular, more varied worship leadership opportunities for Centenary’s youngest!
