PRELUDE
GREETING
INTROIT
Hymn of Praise — René Clausen Alleluia, alleluia, praise God in his holy temple. Amen, amen, Alleluia, Amen.
†OPENING PRAYER
Lord, we pray that your grace may always precede and follow us, that we may continually be given to good works; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
†HYMN OF PROCESSION
#139 Praise to the Lord, the Almighty — LOBE DEN HERREN
†AFFIRMATION OF FAITH
We are not alone, we live in God’s world. We believe in God: who has created and is creating, who has come in Jesus, the Word made flesh, to reconcile and make new, who works in us and others by the Spirit. We trust in God. We are called to be the church: to celebrate God’s presence, to love and serve others, to seek justice and resist evil, to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen, our judge and our hope. In life, in death, in life beyond death, God is with us. We are not alone. Thanks be to God. Amen.
†GLORIA PATRI
#71 Glory Be to the Father — GREATOREX Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.
PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
BAPTISM
BAPTISMAL RESPONSE
Do you as Christ’s body, the church, reaffirm both your rejection of sin and your commitment to Christ? We do.
Will you nurture one another in the Christian faith and life and include Bowman, now before you, in your care?
With God’s help we will proclaim the good news and live according to the example of Christ. We will surround Bowman with a community of love and forgiveness, that he may grow in his service to others. We will pray for him, that he may be a true disciple who walks in the way that leads to life.
HYMN
#191 Jesus Loves Me — JESUS LOVES ME (Children, kindergartners through third grade, are invited to exit the Sanctuary for Children’s Worship. Children will return to reserved pews in the Sanctuary at the close of worship.)
WE HEAR THE WORD PROCLAIMED
CANTICLE
Live-a Humble — arr. Marvin Mills
A-live a humble, humble yourself, the bell’s a done-rung. Glory and honor, praise King Jesus, glory and honor, praise the Lamb. Did you ever see such a man as God, who gave up His Son for to come and die! He gave up His Son for to come and die, just to save my soul from a burning fire. A-live a humble, humble yourself, the bell’s a done-rung.
SCRIPTURE — Matthew 18:1-6
This is the word of God for the people of God. Thanks be to God.

WE RENEW OUR COMMITMENT
OFFERTORY
Leaning on the Everlasting Arms — arr. Eric Nelson
What a fellowship, what a joy divine, leaning on the everlasting arms; what a blessedness, what a peace is mine, leaning on the everlasting arms. Leaning, leaning, safe and secure from all alarms; leaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms. Oh, how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way, leaning on the everlasting arms; oh, how bright the path grows from day to day, leaning on the everlasting arms. Through many dangers, toils, and snares, I have already come. What have I to dread, what have I to fear, leaning on the everlasting arms? I have blessed peace with my Lord so near, leaning on the everlasting arms.
†DOXOLOGY

Your goodness has created us, your bounty has sustained us, your discipline has chastened us, your patience has borne with us, your love has redeemed us. Give us a heart to love and serve you, and enable us to show our thankfulness for all your goodness and mercy by giving up ourselves to your service, and cheerfully submitting in all things to your blessed will; through Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.

Join us as we hear from a panel of experts including our own Oliver Helsabeck, resource folks from Trellis Supportive Care and others. We’ll also have dinner and table talk to further deepen our learning and help us feel equipped to navigate conversations with our children. Each adult is $10 with free children’s activities for infants-5th graders. Invite all your friends and register now using the QR code or on the church website. Registration closes today!

CONGREGATIONAL CARE FOR AM WITH YOU: FACING LONELINESS IN A DISCONNECTED WORLD
TODAY • 5 PM • MEMORIAL AUDITORIUM
According to the U.S. Surgeon General’s Advisory on the Healing Effects of Social Connection and Community, “social connection is as essential to our long-term survival as food and water. But today, loneliness is more widespread than other major health issues in the U.S. Our epidemic of loneliness and isolation is a major public health concern.” Loneliness pervades our society as people have lost connections for a variety of reasons and causes. Join Stephen Ministry and Shining Light on Mental Health for a special program. Bert Sanders, Chaplain at Arbor Acres, will lead the program, aimed at helping people navigate the challenges of loneliness and building and maintaining connections. Music will be provided by Art Bloom, Keith Byrd, and Zakiyyah Niang. For more information, contact Rev. Oliver Helsabeck

Those words? Turn. Learn. Pray. Worship. Bless. God. Rest. We are so excited to grow in our understanding of Jesus and how he invites us to live and hope you will be too!
