VBS News Sunday Celebration: July 22, 4:00-5:00pm You don’t want to miss all the fun of Vacation Bible School so join us on Sunday afternoon when we kick off the week in the auditorium. We’ll start the fun at 4 p.m. We’ll play games, hear a Bible story and kick-off a great week! The first day’s curriculum is covered on Sunday afternoon so make sure you’re here for every minute. Kids, this is your chance to show your parents all the fun of VBS. Parents, this is a great fun-filled afternoon for you to spend with your kids. Don’t miss it! Following the program, we will have popsicles on the playground as well as an inflatable for hopping fun. We will have childcare for children younger than Vacation Bible School age so parents can join in all of the excitement! This is a great opportunity to come and pick-up your child’s t-shirt, buy a CD ($5), and get your child’s crew assignments for the week. This will help simplify your checkin on Monday morning!

VBS Music CD’s If you would like to go ahead and buy a CD so you can come prepared to sing all day long; then bring $5 with you to the children’s building lobby any Sunday to pick one up! There will be a limited number of CD’s available, so don’t delay in picking yours up! We will have them available the week of VBS as long as they last.

Drop-Off

When you struggle... Jesus Rescues

Each day when you drop-off your child, please make sure you check in with their crew leader. We want to make sure that we always know that your child is in the care of one of our volunteers. On Monday morning, if you did not get your child’s crew assignment on Sunday, stop by the preregistered tables. Here you will receive your child’s group number which will help you to locate the group leader.

Drop-Off will be in the sanctuary each morning. When dropping off your child, please let your crew leader know if someone else will be picking them up that day, so they can add them to the authorized pick up list. Crews will be designated by numbers on the pews. Drop-off Monday-Thursday is 9:00am. Doors will not open until 8:50am.

Parking Since drop off and pick up will be in the sanctuary, please park in the Fifth Street parking lot directly across from the sanctuary. There will be a crossing guard to help make sure everyone gets across the street safely.

Preschool (4 year old & Pre K) Those children who are four or five by August 15th; not going to kindergarten in 2018, and are also potty trained are invited to be a part of our preschool program. This program has all of the great elements of our Elementary program designed with preschoolers in mind. This group will be dropped off and picked up in the front pews of the sanctuary. Each of their small groups will have an adult leader and a youth helper. 2

Pick-Up Children will be picked up in the sanctuary each day. Please check out your child with their crew leader in their pew. The leader will have a sign out sheet with each child’s name as well as a list of who is authorized to pickup each child. Pick-up Monday-Thursday is 12 noon. You are invited to come and enjoy the closing assembly from the back of the sanctuary. Closing begins at 11:35am each day. This is an opportunity for you to see your kid’s enthusiasm for what they are learning while at

Elementary (Rising K-3rd Grade) Our rising Kindergartners through rising 3rd graders are at the heart of the fun at VBS! They will be singing, playing, crafting, and learning how God’s love gives us courage and hope. This group will be dropped off and picked up in the sanctuary.

VBS! When picking up your children please wait until you are invited to their pews. Please enter through the center aisle and exit to the outside aisles. To help ensure your child’s safety, we ask that whoever is picking up your child bring a photo ID, each day, to show the crew leader. This will help us to make sure we are releasing your child to the correct person.

Sometimes fun can be messy! Please make sure you send your children to VBS in clothes that they can run, play, sit on the floor, eat snack, and dance in as well as get a little messy during outside and craft time. Consider wearing your VBS t-shirt all week! Pick it up at the Celebration on Sunday or when you check-in on Monday. Tuesday is water, so be sure to wear clothes that can get wet while playing water games.

Preteens (Rising 4th, 5th & 6th Graders)

They will be joining the opening and closing in the sanctuary, so drop-off at 9am and pick-up at noon will be in the sanctuary.

Preteens are truly one of a kind, so we have created a VBS experience just for them! They will spend each day learning through games, Bible study, service, and more as they come to understand even more what a great gift Jesus is to our lives. Our preteens also get to spend the week with our illustrious youth ministry team in The Haven!

*Tuesday we will have a slip and slide for the preteens. Wear clothes that can get wet and bring a change of clothes.
