Through its sole construction, ESD footwear provides a safe, controlled method of discharging the static electricity that accumulates in your body. The tolerances for the resistance of ESD footwear is stricter (100kO 35MO) than for ordinary antistatic footwear. In ESD (EPA) areas, environments sensitive to electrostatic phenomena, it is compulsory to use approved dissipative occupational footwear complying with the European EN61340-5-1 standard, which provides for as follows: •
