An Altered Star Shaped gift box Tutorial Designed by Mona Pendleton http://cupcakescreations.blogspot.com
To create this altered star shaped gift box, I started with a plain paper mache star shaped box. For the sides, trim patterned paper from the Pink Paislee City Sidewalks collection to measure cut 2 ¾” W x 12” L (x2) and 1 piece 2 ¾” W x 6” L. For the star shape, trace around the perimeter of the lid then trimmed. Using a distressing tool, I distress around all edges of the star shape and lower edge of strips.
Prior to adhering pieces, paint both the upper and lower edges of the star box and perimeter of lid using Liquitex Gesso (step not shown). Once strips and star shape are cut, adhere them to the box using Liquitex Matte Medium.
Adhere Melissa Frances trimmings around the perimeter of the lid and applied Ranger Distress Ink around the perimeter.
The flower embellishments were die cut made using the following Die-namics: Poinsettia, Layered Rose, Mini Royal Roses, Royal Rose, Mini Rolled Roses, and Medium Fancy Flourish.
The following Die-namics were used to make die cuts to layer and frame the beautiful Vintage Santa Claus image from MFT Inspired by Christmas: Circle STAX Set 1 and Decorative Doily.
Once die cut circle is made, stamp the Vintage Santa image then colored using a variety of Copics then applied Distress ink around the edges.
Adhere paper trimmings around perimeter of star lid.
Adhere silver trimming to stamped Santa image then layer on top of die cut doily.
Adhere glitter to flower embellishments and leaves.
Adhere all embellishments. Enjoy ď Š
