Five reasons why you’ll love the new
Cambridge Latin Course Fifth edition The world-leading course has been re-energised
by the Cambridge School Classics Project (CSCP), providing today’s learners with a more diverse and nuanced picture of Roman civilisation and history, while continuing to equip them with clear and extensive language support.
Extensive teacher feedback and research Over 600 responses to our research helped to inform the core aims of the new editions. These include improving the representation of different sectors of society and preserving the integration of culture, stories and language.
Exciting new characters and storylines Created in collaboration with academic specialists, providing historically grounded insight into the Roman world as a context for learning the language.
Rooted in language acquisition research With the reading method at its heart, the series is underpinned by language acquisition research to encourage learners to read Latin from the first page, preparing them to read authentic texts.
Expert teaching and learning support The CSCP has been supporting Latin teachers around the world for over 50 years, providing high-quality teaching and learning guidance. Extensive teacher support will be available on the CSCP website, including online teacher guidance and activities to accompany each new student book.
Promotes a smooth progression to GCSE With four focused student books, learners will develop their skills as beginners, before extending to GCSE and beyond. Language content and vocabulary are mapped to GCSE and the new student books are currently working towards endorsement by OCR and Eduqas.
