YouthFriends
Annual Report 2010
The YouthFriends Impact What began as a pilot in six Greater Kansas City school districts with 613 volunteers has grown to include a network of more than 70 school districts in two states (Missouri and Kansas). YouthFriends, now in its 15th year, has screened, trained and placed over 20,000 volunteer mentors in participating school districts. Mentors who have positively impacted the lives of nearly 271,000 young people and given close to one million volunteer hours (valued at more than $16.4m). That’s the power of YouthFriends.

“ Encouraging students to explore their dreams,
Allison Tillman held two art shows during the months of May and June. Her beautiful, “macrophotography” was shown in the YouthFriends’ offices at the corner of Baltimore and Eighteenth. Amid a bustle of sales, ten percent of which was given to YouthFriends, a silent auction was also held. Several pieces were given to YouthFriends by the artist to benefit ongoing programming.
