Currier Live Auction and Gala Program
Welcome to the Currier Society Live Auction and Gala The Currier Museum works to connect art with people, and we thank you for your support this evening. We have an exciting program of exhibitions and events lined up for the fall. In September, our community art project, Blue Trees, will transform our neighborhood and stretch towards downtown. All of our community is invited to participate. In October, we will open an important exhibition of Renaissance sculpture featuring little-known works drawn from several museums. From Hermit to Warrior: John the Baptist in the Renaissance is the first old masters exhibition at the museum in more than ten years and will reveal the creative impulse of an important period of world history. We will kick off our new Artist-in-Residence program in September with Ethan Murrow’s wall drawing exhibition which will capture aspects of New Hampshire in an exciting contemporary project — made with Sharpies. The spring brings a stunning show of African textiles fashioned from beads. We continue our work with families of those struggling with opioid addiction, Alzheimer’s patients, and other audiences in need. We hope that you will bid enthusiastically tonight in support of these programs. If you are not already a member of the Currier Society, please join us for special behind-the-scenes events and a chance to experience art in depth. Have a great evening — and thanks again for your strong support.

9. Private Party for Eight at the Currier's Zimmerman House, Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright For the first time in history, the Currier Museum of Art will invite the public to bid on an unprecedented experience; an evening with friends at the Zimmerman House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The winning bidder and their guests will enjoy an exclusive evening with the Currier’s Director and CEO, Alan Chong, at the historic property located in the North End of Manchester, New Hampshire. The Isadore J. and Lucille Zimmerman House (1950) was designed by one of the world’s greatest modern architects, Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959). The Zimmermans were well-known for their love of art, music, and entertaining. The house offers glimpses of a private world from the 1950s and 1960s, including the Zimmermans’ personal collection of pottery, sculpture, and Japanese art. This intimate evening offers the remarkable opportunity to experience the life and art of a bygone era. “We regard the Zimmerman House as part of the Currier Museum’s collection,” said Alan Chong. “Visitors see the house on guided tours. We are excited to offer this very special auction item, not only because it builds support for the museum, but also because our special guests can enjoy this historic house in the way it was designed, as an intimate experience with music, art, and food.” Frank Lloyd Wright designed the house, its interiors and furniture, the gardens, and even the mailbox. In 1979 the building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Mrs. Zimmerman left the property to the Currier Museum upon her death in 1988. While the museum offers docent-led tours through the property, this auction will allow the winning bidder and their guests first-time full-access to the home for the duration of the evening. The evening will include cocktails and live music, an in-depth tour of the exquisitely preserved mid-century residence, and a customized five-course catered dinner. Each guest will also take home their own special keepsake, a beautiful photo book, A Work of Art for Kindred Spirits: Frank Lloyd Wright’s Zimmerman House. Estimated value: Priceless 14
