ashion.... It’s a major part of life. It’s the way that you live, the way that you do your hair, the way that you dress to impress. What you wear expresses who you are and what you want people to think about you. A great deal of our fashion is influenced by Hollywood, or by ur friends, or the people that we strive to be like. Some people are completely worried that what they wear will give the wrong impression to someone they want to have an impact on. Girls are often worried that what they wear will make them look weird or even old-fashioned. Only a small number of people take the thoughts inside their head and create their own, unique way of dressing. Simply Original is a brand that speaks to innovative women that have their own distinct personality and style. Karen Williams (Scott) born September 4, 1969 is a native of Fort Worth, Texas. Karen has had a passion for creativity since she was 10 years old. She has been designing for well over 20 years and is one of Texas’s best kept secrets. Graduating from Bauder College School of Design in 1990, then Grand Canyon University in 2010 with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Design. Karen has gone on to be featured in over 300 fashion venues around the United States. Simply Original has been recognized in the Fort Worth Star Telegram as Fort worth’s Up and Coming new talent, and featured numerous times in the Dallas, Texas Apparel Mart. In 1990 she opened a fashion boutique that featured the latest in fashion apparel, and upon request would design garments fashioned to

your specifications .She later regrettably closed the doors in 2000 to care for her business partner and mother Mildred G. Williams, also a native of Fort Worth TX, In 2008 Simply Original partnered with Texas 10 a plus size model agency in 2010 to design the Monarch Collection by Simply Original. These designs are geared for a more voluptuous figure. The Monarch Collections focus is primarily on the full bodied women, sizes 12-24 and beyond, who in today’s society is not considered appealing to the fashion industry. From being the first full figured designer featured in Fashion Week Dallas, Texas February 2012. She has displayed her work in many different venues such as, being the featured designer at the C.D. release for the up and coming jazz musician Michael Walker ,to having her designs Featured in the graceful magazine in Dallas, Texas called(Curves)in the July issue 2012. The name (Simply Original) clearly states, there is nothing simple about her designs. Karen creates her designs for comfort, style and versatility. With her flare for sexy, and affordable creations, everyone can look there very best and still remain fashionable in these trying times. Karen’s focus is primarily on the curvaceous women sizes 12-24 and beyond for the plus size divas, who in today’s society is not considered appealing to the fashion industry. STYLISH CLOTHES ARE NOT JUST FOR SKINNY GIRLS, PLUS SIZE GIRLS CAN ROCK STYLISH CLOTHES TOO!

eing a plus size model and a fashion stylist I find it very funny when working with skinny models. They tend to look at me wondering “Wow, she looks nice to be a plus size model!” Uh, don’t get it twisted, plus size does not mean I have to look like a walking tent. My plus size Divas can rock stylish clothes too! From wearing stripes to pleats to even wearing skinny jeans, yes I said skinny jeans. It’s all about knowing what looks good on you. It’s about playing up your best assets and camouflaging the ones you don’t feel confident about. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what clothes will flatter your body type, but on the other hand some of us ladies need a little extra help.

to be done in the correct way or the clothing we choose will look like a train wreck. The current trends that are hot are A-line or pencil skirts, hi-lo dresses, peplum tops, sweaters, and of course skinny jeans. Ladies, if you are like me I love to shop! I find great plus size clothes from Target, AGX, Avenue, Ashley Stewart, Lane Bryant, Dots, Ross, and my favorite stylish trendy clothing store would be Torrid. They have clothes and shoes for the Diva who has that Fashionista flair about them. Just make sure to try your clothes on and study every angle in the mirror before purchasing your clothes. Nothing looks worst than seeing a plus size woman wearing clothes that do not fit properly.

First ladies, you must select garments and details To all my plus size Divas keep in mind that we too from the current fashion trends that work for can rock stylish clothing just like our counterparts. you, not what you see in magazines or what you have seen on your BFF. Ravens Nest

Hello everyone welcome back to Ravens Nest, I would like to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season, just want to encourage everyone to spend time with family and friends. Be thankful for all of your blessing no matter how big or small. Question so as the year 2012 come to an end how do you feel your team is doing... Do you think your team will make it to the playoffs or are you looking to next season because your team has experience injuries to key players and it’s just not looking good at this point. So your playoffs dreams are on hold for now.... Football Rumors & Gossip Let’s start with the Jets: Tim Tebow is not very happy with his role on the Jets. The New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow told the media that it’s hard for him to get a rhythm going and get a feel for the game because he’s not on the field on a consistent basis during games. “I think when you’re getting the ball a lot during the game you can get the rhythm of the game and I think that makes it easier,” Tebow said, via ESPNNewYork.com. We all know Tebow has been missing in action I would love to know why Coach Ryan even fought to bring him to New York. Oh I know he was meant to be their good luck charm there saint mary charm. Moving to the Eagles: Michael Vick says the Eagles can still turn things around Even though the Philadelphia Eagles are now are 3-5 really Vick after last week’s loss to the Saints, quarterback Michael Vick still believes his team has a chance at turning things around. “It’s on us to get it all turned around, man. We just have to keep pushing,” Vick told Phillymag.com. “The thing is, we still have a fighting chance, we still control our own destiny, well let’s hope Vick can push his team to the playoffs will they sore like a eagles or will they fall like a wounded bird. I think it might be over but we shall see.

Last but not least how about those Cowboys: Somebody let me in. Jerry Jones told Bob Costas over the weekend that Jones the owner would have fired Jones the G.M. by now. What do you think would you let him go, well after Sunday night’s loss to the Falcons, the Cowboys may have tried to fire both guys. According to Matt Barrie of NBC 5 in Dallas, “Jerry Jones just pounded [the] locker room door because no one would let him in. It’s the angriest I’ve seen him all year.” Like him or not, the guy owns the team and you just can’t lock out the owner people. He has every right to be in the locker room after the game. So we can understand why he’s mad.. Glad it wasn’t me because heads would have been rolling nobody would have gotten a check and they would have paid for the door. I think Jones should be more upset about the team’s performance or lack of. Since looking like a Super Bowl contender on the first night of the season, the Cowboys have won two and lost five now that enough to be pissed about. I guess they won’t be the blue star team of the NFL. It’s funny how so much goes on in the NFL from week to week one week your team looks like it going to be the leader of the pack the next week you have key players injured and it looks like your done for the season. Wow you really never know what going to happen but it sure is fun watching and finding out. It’s like chess who will be the king and who will be knocked out of the way to get the golden crown. Well we will just have to wait and see.... Our prayers go out to you Ravens Nest would like all to know who was affected by the storms over this pass month that my heart and prayers or with you. I know this thanksgiving we all should be a lil more thankful for what we have. May God bless all of you in a special way.... God Bless America Red White and Blue I am thankful for you, because for a second term we have elected a wonderful man as President of the United States of America President Obama. I am so happy to know even though some may want to hold us back in some warp time zone. The majority of the country wants and is willing to work together to make this the best country ever with no race, gender or economic issues dividing us but all sharing the same common bond as humans wanting to live a health happy life with our family and friends for years to come and from where I stand if we keep moving forward and teach and show love we can do just that.... What does Weed, Pizza and Manning have in common Peyton Manning will own 21 Papa John’s pizza locations in Denver area.. Now you may be thinking well of course he would invest in them he does commercial for them and that’s true but Peyton Manning is very smart. You know that Denver Colorado Voters approved an amendment legalizing recreational marijuana use in Colorado on Tuesday, making this one of two states to end prohibition of the drug, so you know what manning was thinking someone’s going to be getting the munchies its snack time everybody lol and what better business to invest in when weed is legal but a food spot lol. Seems like he is always thinking on and off the court lol. Raven signing out saying stay sweet and lets keep moving forward......

The Photography Zone Jesse Patterson, of JP4Designz “Growing up, I have always been into electronics, however, I never would have thought that one day I would pick up a camera and marry it. I have always been imaginative yet, I would have never considered pursuing photography as an outlet for creativity. I thank you God for everything you have given me, as photography is a gift I am honored to have. I also thank everyone who has supported my work which has allowed me to learn so much.” What’s going on everyone! I’m Jesse Pattterson, owner of JP4DESIGNZ. To be honest, I wasn’t really crazy about photography at first. I took my first photo class at Texas A&M University-Commerce as a requirement for my Art degree and I found it to be very challenging. I didn’t like the dark room because I would often get clumsy and ruin the film. Also, imagine if you had to pay your teacher $30 or $60 dollars per assignment. Imagine if you had to pay that price again if you had to re-do an assignment you failed. That’s how I view it when you can’t afford to pay a grand up front for the class materials and you have to replace the materials you used on the project you either failed or ruined in the dark room. At times I would get so mad, I’ll get happy all over again. Confusing huh? This class played with my emotions! At the end of the semester I actually got used to processing film and came out with an epic C- in the class. Even though the class started to grow on me, I never thought to pick up a camera again. After a year or so, I noticed that I started seeing things. You know how you would go to an event or a party and random people may come to you and ask you to take a picture of them and their friends with their camera? Well, I noticed that people would complement me more than usual when it came to those pictures. I was also a graphic designer. I noticed after taking that class my design skills improved significantly. I’ve received a lot of recognition around campus with my improved skills along with winning several contests and was recognized in the city newspaper 3 years in a row as a graphic designer. I also studied art in London, Paris, and Rome to enhance my newly found creativity. After having soooo much success in the field of graphic design which includes a Bachelor’s and 2 Associate Degrees, about 6 years of experience in Photoshop and 4 years as a professional graphic designer at that time, I started to notice that pictures had a lot to do with my improved skills. As I came to that conclusion, I went ahead and bought an expensive, pro level camera. When I did so, I only wanted to enhance my graphics even further however, when people see a big, black, expensive pendant “camera” around your neck, they assume you know everything there is to photography. So, photo sessions here and there led into more investments in photography, putting my graphic arts skills in time out. Up until late 2010, I only saw photography as a hobby however, at that time, I felt as though God was leading me to pursue a career in photography. Ever since then, God has provided me with valuable experiences in photography. The more I invested, the better I got. The better I got, the more I studied. The more I studied, more opportunities came flooding in. 2011 was my first year as a professional photographer, and God has blessed me with so much experience in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. As I review my work, I stay humbled as God shows me that I have A LOT to learn. I know that God will continue to provide as I walk in his will. I am sooo thankful for other professionals who constantly provide me with knowledge and experiences. I can’t wait to see what’s next!
