ustice Shahid Waheed of the Lahore High Court sought reply from federal ministry of law on appointment of Ghulam Murtaza Bhatti as Chairman Customs Appellate Tribunal in two weeks. Sources informed Customs Today that Asif Mehmood advocate challenged the appointment

of Ghulam Murtaza Bhatti as CAT chairman. In his plea Asif Mehmood said that his appointment was made after ingnoring rules and regulations. He further prayed that Ghulam Murtaza Bhatti even not have required twenty year experience, while government did not even consult with the Chief Justice of Lahore High Court with is mandatory according to law. He prayed to Court to declare appointment of Customs Appellate Tribunal chief as null and void.
