Local dancer becomes World Champion
E
ight year old Bonnie Bullock, pupil at Saint Paulinus’s RC school in Guisborough recently represented TEAM ENGLAND at the official Dance World Cup in Braga, Portugal. She was selected from thousands of applicants in not just one but seven routines including Song and Dance Solo, Tap Duet, Acrobatics duet and troupes. She came home a world Champion with four Gold Medals, a Silver and placed in the top six in the world in all seven of her routines! The highlight of the week, (along with eating ice cream every day) was being awarded Gold for her Tap Dance Duet with her friend Rose Blair. Both the girls along with family and friends and
everyone watching live back at home were very emotional and proud of them. Bonnie's proud Mum, Tara Bullock told Coastal View: "The compere left the massive audience waiting, building up intense suspense to announce the winning country and when Bonnie's name was read out I just felt a flush of emotions, "I will never forget that feeling of watching her face fill with excitement and tears as she was awarded her Gold World Champion Medal." Last year Bonnie became a European Champion, this year she got her World Champion title, what will 2020 bring for this little dancing superstar?
The demise of Loftus Town Crier
L
By Kathleen Barber
ast year when we decided that we could no longer go on producing the Crier we were pleased to be contacted by Barry Tighe from North Yorkshire Online who was keen to keep the Crier going by bringing it up to date. We had several meetings where we supported the takeover and in March this year we passed sufficient funds over to produce the next issue. The remaining funds were shared between seven other groups who were considered to
help the our wider community. They were; Skinningrove Bonfire, Hope Animal Sanctuary, Loftus Community Forum, Temperance Square Business Forum, Loftus Special Events Group, Love Loftus, and Light up Loftus. We have just been informed that North Yorkshire Online are unable to proceed any further at present and they have offered to return our money. We are so disappointed at this outcome as we feel that this community needs a central voice. Our sincere apologies to our readers and advertisers.
