Two Star HH When searching for a venue for your next event, you need to know what levels of quality and service to expect. Hotels are given a rating from 1 - 5 Stars – the more Stars, the higher the quality and the greater range of facilities and level of service provided. VisitBritain and AA has joined forces to provide a harmonised rating system that is your clear guide to what to expect, in an easy-to-understand form. Where hotels have been awarded a VB or AA grading it will appear alongside their listing, e.g. AA *** However, there is no grading system for management training centres and non-residential venues and some of the national hotel chains are not part of the harmonised grading system. Many of these properties have their own internal quality controls and self appointed star rating. Please note that where you do not see the VB, AA symbol but see SG, this grading has been self appointed and does not necessarily meet with the rating qualifications detailed on this page.

Of course, many lower star-rated hotels may offer some of the above, but just do not meet all of the expectations for the higher star ratings. Sometimes a hotel has exceptional bedrooms and bathrooms and offers its guests a very special welcome, but cannot achieve a higher star rating because, for example, it does not offer dinner every evening (two star), room service (three star) or does not have the minimum 50% of bathrooms with bath and shower (four star). The Enjoy England professional assessors visit every year, carrying out a routine day visit or an overnight stay in the case of serviced accommodation. On these occasions, they book in as you would, as a normal guest and test all the facilities and services. A quality score is awarded for every aspect of the experience including the comfort of the bed, the quality of the breakfast and dinner and, most importantly, the cleanliness. They also score the warmth of welcome. Places that 'go the extra mile' to make your stay a special one, will be awarded a high star rating and hotels and guest accommodation may achieve a Gold or Silver award. Some of our properties have also been awarded the AA red star award which is awarded to the top hotels in the country - these are selected from each of the star-rating levels for their exceptional quality of accommodation and customer service.

Getting here has never been easier By Car With easy access to the national motorway network, arriving by road couldn’t be easier – the M6, M6 Toll, M40, M42, M5, M69, with the A45 and A46 being the main arterial roads into the region. By Rail Coventry is on the Main West Coast Line with regular trains networking it with other major towns and cities. Trains run every 30 minutes to London and there is also an extensive timetable of local trains linking it to local towns. Warwick, Stratford and Leamington can be reached in less than 2 hours on a direct train from London Marylebone. Coventry Cathedral is renowned for the bombed Ruins of the old Cathedral and the internationally acclaimed modern art in the new Cathedral, making it an awe inspiring venue for a conference or function. The main space in the new Cathedral can seat up to 400 people for a banquet style meal utilising round tables or up to 1200 people theatre style. The Ruins provide the perfect backdrop for outdoor theatre and music productions. The Cathedral has previously hosted several large scale award ceremonies and concerts and was chosen as the 2007 venue for the National Britain in Bloom Awards.
