Heritage Open Days also includes tours, events and activities that focus on local architecture and culture.

Free to explore… Coventry’s Heritage! Heritage Open Days weekend provides a great opportunity to learn more about Coventry’s history and heritage, and there will be many historical societies and associations on hand at key venues throughout the weekend to enhance your Heritage Open Days experience. These groups largely consist of volunteers, dedicating their time and effort to educating the wider community, celebrating our heritage, and campaigning to preserve our history.
George Miles Memorial George Miles became a Coventry Green Badge Tourist Guide in 1990 and since then, had played a important part in promoting the city of Coventry to visitors from around the World. This included many from places twinned with our city, for which he had a passion for. His death is a sad loss to his family and to the city, especially the part he played in promoting local heritage on Heritage Open Day weekends. He will be forever remembered giving guided tours of the Undercroft in his monks outfit. We have dedicated this event to George and all those involved in its running will be thinking of him.

Win a Nintendo DSi!
CV One has joined forces with the Coventry Telegraph to offer one lucky winner the chance to walk away with a brand new Nintendo DSi console and game. The competition is open to all ages, so bring your family along to the Heritage Open Days over the 11th-12th September for a chance to win this fabulous prize! The Nintendo DSi can be yours by simply attending three of this year’s attractions and working out the answers to the three mystery questions that you can find exclusively printed in the Friday 3rd September edition of the Coventry Telegraph.
