Ensure the arts in our region thrive for generations to come.
Opening to great fanfare in May 2010, the Hylton Performing Arts Center is a shining example of what a successful community partnership can achieve. The Hylton Center is a unique “creative commons” that has inspired patrons to express their voices by participating as artists, audiences, and lifelong learners.
Since the onset of the global pandemic, the Hylton Center has reimagined how the arts create community by utilizing technology to bring the arts to life through virtual channels with Hylton at Home and even unveiling a new, outdoor venue with the launch of Hylton on the Hill.
The continued success of the Hylton Center relies on the Friends of the Hylton Center – this year more than any other – to bridge the gap between providing virtual artistic experiences now and ensuring a season full of in-person, indoor performances by national and international artists that will refresh and inspire when the Hylton Center reopens.
Friends of the Hylton Center:
n GUARANTEE a showcase of talent from renowned national and international artists, both virtually and in person
n INTRODUCE the arts to regional school children through innovative education programming, including robust virtual offerings
n PROVIDE programs to Veterans, Servicemembers, their family members, and military caregivers through the Veterans and the Arts Initiative, creating community through classes and workshops online

ENRICHING EDUCATION THROUGH THE ARTS
Established in 2013 as its own 501(c)3 to support Education Initiatives at the Hylton Center, PAK was incorporated into the Friends of the Hylton Center in 2019, establishing the new Performing Arts for
Kids Fund. Now, the organization’s volunteers work even more closely with Hylton Center leadership to raise funds through projects, including an annual commemorative ornament sale that supports the Education Initiatives at the Hylton Center. 10% of your membership gift will be applied to this fund to directly support Education Initiatives.
