PARTNERS IN PROGRAMMEMISSION
The Call To Mission
The call to mission is to everyone who desires to join in partnership with Jesus Christ in His work in the world. His vision that all may have life and life in abundance is a compelling one for all to hear God’s cry for humanity wherever people live outside of the experience of life in fullness. It is also an invitation to respond by offering hands, minds and resources. To this end, Council for World Mission’s Partner in Mission programme provides an opportunity to offer and receive partners to accomplish specific mission priorities as member churches or partner organisations respond to God’s call to mission.
The Partner in Mission (PIM) programme is a coordinated approach to sharing people. The term ‘Partner in Mission’ refers to an individual who serves in a context outside of his/her own nation and member church, using skills, experiences and gifts which are needed in the new context that they serve.
The term ‘Partner in Mission’ demonstrates the organisation’s commit ment to accompanying our members as partners. It recognises and affirms that each member has something to share and offer and that our members are already participating in God’s mission through the church and in the world. He said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore, ask the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into his harvest.” Luke 10:2 (NRSV)
“We accomplish in our lifetime only a tiny fraction of the magnificent enterprise that is God's work.”
“We plant a seed that will one day grow. We water seeds already planted, knowing that they hold future promise. We lay foundations that will need further development. We provide yeast that produces effects far beyond our capabilities.”
“We may never see the end results, but that is the difference between the master builder and the worker. We are workers, not master builders, ministers, not messiahs. We are prophets of a future not our own.”
A FUTURE NOT OUR OWN - Archbishop Oscar Romero
Dr Parfaite is a dental surgeon from Church of Jesus Christ in Madagascar (FJKM) who served in the Kiribati Uniting Church. “I thank God I am useful where He has called me to serve for the benefit of the people in need of my skill and help… I consider as a big achievement the fact that people on an isolated island have direct access to Dental services and do not need to go to the capital in Tarawa, two time zones away for such illness.”
REBECCA Rebecca, from the Presbyterian Church of India and her husband Miara from the Church of Jesus Christ in Madagascar served Llanfair. “By following Jesus’s example to be non-judgemental,inclusive,showing love and compassion to the people we serve, we can be an instrument of God and contribute to build His kingdom on earth.”
ALISON Alison worked with the United Church of Zambia and her sending church was the United Reformed Church in the United Kingdom. She served as a secondary school teacher and was the Head Teacher of a girls secondary school in the north east of Zambia from 2006 to 2021.

LEMBEPARFAITE
Rev Lembe is a minister from the United Church in Zambia serving in the United Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands “… a church cannot meet the needs she is not aware about and this is only possible when we become more of a listening entity. We have decided not to stand aloof and watch from a distance, but to get closer to the people and provide a platform of deep and meaningful conversations which should end up providing tangible assistance for a life worthwhile.”
