STRAND THEATRE Built in 1919 on the site of Henry Curran’s 1855 Flour Mill, the theatre was opened in 3 April 1920. It operated as a movie theatre for many years before being used as a roller skating rink in the 1970s. In 2006 it was remodelled to accommodate a retail outlet. PHOTO BY ALF MANCIAGLI.
