Wangarang wants scarecrow showdown on Show Day!

Show Gates open on Saturday, May 14 and across Orange people have been working hard on their entries for the pavilion. Orange City Life visited Wangarang Industries this week, who are throwing down the gauntlet to other local groups to get creative and try to top their entry in the Show’s scarecrow competition.
Showing o the Wangarang team’s e orts on Monday, Chief Executive O cer of Wangarang Industries, Kevin McGuire put out an open challenge to other local businesses to get creative and get involved in our local show.


The group section of the show’s scarecrow competition is open to businesses, schools and other organisations with categories for “Techno Scarecrow”, “Best Dressed Scarecrow representing the Orange region”, “Scarecrow representing a Business of School”, and “Scarecrow made from recycled materials”.
Individuals can also get involved in the 10 years and under, or 11 years and over competitions, with four categories: “Scariest Scarecrow”, “Coolest Scarecrow”, “Hippy Scarecrow” and “Scarecrow made from recycled materials”.
Entry forms and fees must be submitted by Wednesday, May 10, with exhibits brought to the Agricultural Pavilion at the Showgrounds on Thursday, May 11. Entry forms can be found at www.orangeshowsociety.org.au/scarecrow
