FEE NOTES Fees are fixed for 2015-16. Fees for 2016-17 may be subject to small cost-of-living increases. **The MA is a 2 year programme where students complete the Research module in Year 2; however, students may opt to complete this as a standalone module in year 3. Payment of Fees: Fees may be paid in full (at the discounted rate) or by Standing Order (with a £100 additional fee). The full fee, or the first standing order payment, is due for payment four weeks prior to the start of programme. All fees are payable to CWR. No refunds or reductions are given if meals are not taken or if part/all of a weekend is not attended. Students are liable for the whole amount of the fees agreed whether paid by the student or a third party. Payment by credit card: A surcharge of 3% will be added if fees are paid by credit card. However if you pay by debit card no extra charges will be incurred. Deposit: £500 of the above fees are payable as a deposit upon acceptance of a place on the programme. Deposits are non-refundable unless the applicant fails to meet the conditions of entry or the programme is cancelled. Third party funding If funding is provided by a commercial or charitable organisation an official letter of sponsorship is required. This should state contact and invoice address details, the applicant’s name and amount of sponsorship. (Parents and family members are not classed as sponsors). Unpaid fees – Students may not be permitted to continue on the programme, progress to the next year, or graduate while fees remain outstanding. Administration charges Once an invoice has been issued any re-invoicing due to changes made by the student (e.g. payment arrangements; funding arrangements; residential status), will incur a £30 admin fee for each reinvoicing.

Students are required to obtain an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring check upon entry to the programme. These are additional expenses to the fees above. Students are responsible for payment of all additional fees and any membership fees of professional bodies. WITHDRAWAL FROM THE PROGRAMME OR INTERRUPTION OF STUDIES For the purpose of calculating withdrawal or interruption fees the full year fees, and any bursary awards, will be divided into 3 equal amounts to reflect the three terms of the programme (Oct-Dec; Jan-Mar; Apr-Jun). Bursary Fund Waverley Abbey College would like to enable people to benefit from their BA and MA programmes who would not otherwise be able to do so. It will therefore offer carefully targeted financial assistance from its Bursary Fund. The Fund is limited in size, and so the potential to award bursaries is similarly limited, but a small number of places will be subsidised each year by between 10% - 50%.
Eligibility Other than in exceptional cases, bursaries will be awarded to students in later years of the programmes (i.e. Year 2 onwards) who already have a proven track record of aptitude, academic success and financial reliability on their particular programme. Bursaries will be for one year only in the first instance; candidates will need to re-apply each year, and be considered alongside the claims against the fund in that particular year .
How to apply In general, bursaries will be awarded before the start of the programme year in question. Applications should be made in writing to the Admissions Office, using the Waverley Abbey College Bursary Application Form (email registry@waverleyabbeycollege.ac.uk). The closing date for 2015-16 bursary applications is as follows:
30 June 2015 Applications after this date will be considered on an individual basis. Candidates will need to offer: good reasons why they want to continue (or start) the course at this particular time, and how they intend to use the training afterwards; proof of financial need – information about income and savings, plus a letter of endorsement from the church leader or someone in a leadership position who knows the candidate (and their circumstances) well; and evidence of any commitment from others to contribute to the fees. If the candidate’s church/organisation offers to contribute, that demonstrates endorsement of the candidate’s suitability, and will favour the application. The Bursary Panel will consider together all applications received by the due date. In addition to the applications from the candidates, they will consider tutors’ reports of previous performance, including aptitude for people-helping, and the candidates’ previous track record in payment of fees. Notwithstanding any bursary award, the standard £500 deposit must be received before a place on the programme can be confirmed. Bursary awards are divided into three equal parts and applied at the beginning of each term of the programme.
