Take back the space in your garage and put it to good use for your cars , tools, storage, or hobbies. Remove any unwanted clutter (have keep, store and donate piles) Metal shelves are easy to assemble and set up around the edge of your garage Use clear plastic bins to store items so contents are visible and label bins with a permanent marker Store similar items in the same bin Get bikes off your garage floor by using hooks on the wall or ceiling Use a pegboard to store smaller tools Use hooks on the wall to store larger tools If your ceiling is a truss ceiling put plywood down between the beams for seasonal storage For flat ceilings use racks that hang from the ceiling for seasonal storage Have a shoe rack next to the door to the house Put metal trays under cars that may leak fluid Store large bags of potting soil and dog food in clean trash bins to keep moisture out
