HALLOWEEN COSTUMES

With Halloween quickly approaching, it might be time to finally give some thought as to what you're going to dress up as. Sure, you can go to the Halloween store and spend $50 on a costume, but why do that when you can make your own for under $15? These three costumes can all be made in one night with supplies that are easy to find. Follow these simple steps and you are guaranteed to show up to the party Halloween ready.

Red pencil skirt from Amazon Prime ($8)

Cotton tank dress available on Amazon Prime ($7)

Jerrol’s: Brown paint ($3.99) Mod Podge ($4.09) Pipe Cleaners ($1.50)

Jerrol's: Bag of pom-poms ($3.99) Piece of grey felt ($0.59)

headband into the shape of deer antlers. Wrap pipe cleaners in tan masking tape. Cover masking tape with Mod Podge. (Let dry overnight) Paint antlers brown. Complete by doing make up with heavy bronzer around cheek bones and temples with white dots on top surrounding eyes. Use black make up to draw deer nose. 1. Cut off the bottom of your old tank to turn it into a crop top.

tank, front and back, without leaving any space in-between. 3. Use sharpie to draw gumball machine money slot/price on grey felt. 4. Glue felt onto front middle of pencil skirt. 5. Put it all on together and be a human gumball machine.

The Palace is the original Ellensburg taco Tuesday spot and still has the best deals on tacos. The tacos are similar to that of Taco Bell which may just be every drunk college kids dream. For 79 cents a taco on both Tuesday and Thursday you really can’t go wrong. Voted best deals

Blue Rock has the widest variety of food and drink options on their taco Tuesday menu. The flautas and corn were my personal favorites at this stop and had me wishing I had another plate of each. Not that you weren’t going to already, be warned that you must order a drink in order to get the food deals.

The Porch’s has street style tacos and they're to die for. They have the cheapest Corona deals out of the group and are also the only place to have tequila shots on special! After having ate my weight in tacos the first two spots on my list, I still wanted more of these tacos.

Break-ups are quick, but the amount we mourn afterward is what ends up biting us in the ass. How do you cope with the pain?

a. “Listen to me! The right guy is an illusion. Start living your lives.”

What would life be if we didn’t have our friends to comfort us in everyday life?

a. “Let it go. If I worried what every bitch says about me, I’d never leave the house.”

b. “It takes half the total time you went out with someone to get over them.”

b. “It’s infuriating! Women sit around, obsessing about what went wrong, while men just say ‘alrighty’ and move on.”

c. “I have never been able to be friends... with an ex boyfriend. I met those couples who stay friends and I think how? How do they do that?”

Your thoughts on what the true definition of soul mates mean?

a. “Well, we made a deal ages ago. Men, babies, doesn’t matter. We’re soul mates.” b. “Maybe we can be each other’s soul mates. And then we can let men be just these great, nice guys to have fun with.” c. “We could analyze this for years and never know. I mean, they still don’t know who killed Kennedy...easy come, easy go” d. “No matter who broke your heart, or how long it takes to heal, you’ll never get through it without your friends.”

How did you come up with the concept for the album “Splendor & Misery”?

Was the story at all influenced by the current political climate?

During the creation of the album, members of CLIPPING. were in award winning musicals, getting doctorates in audio production and scoring movies. When did you create and record this album?

Daveed: “We knew that we wanted to make an album that sounded like outer space…and we’ve been reading old Sci-Fi novels, and we’ve been interested in Afrofuturism for quite some time… and so it’s sort of an expansion of Sci-Fi for Black Culture.”

Daveed: “No, we started writing the story years ago after a speech that N.K. Jameson had made about the crazy, overt racism that she was experiencing writing science fiction with slack female protagonists.”

Daveed: “The creation of it happened pretty fast, I disappeared (to star in Hamilton) and it took a while to track down the vocalists, but for the most part I recorded the vocals before Hamilton.”

How does it feel to reveal the new tracks to audiences at shows?

Your music is very experimental, can you talk about where you get some of your sounds from?

How do your Instrumentals and Freestyles factor into how you tell the story of “Splendor & Misery”?

Many artists are making visual albums to accompany their albums. would you ever consider doing this for “Splendor & Misery”?

Of all the ways your music could have gone, what attracted you to the more noise-industrial music?

Daveed: “It’s been cool; a little nerve-racking and I’ve had to learn songs I wrote two years ago, but it’s a humbling experience having to memorize your own lyrics.”

Jonathan: “Any sound or noise you hear is 100 percent original, but the tools we use are primarily field recorders and synthesizers. We don’t sample in a traditional sense; we aren’t cutting samples from old records.”

Daveed: “I guess they work in the sense that the character [in the album] is literally freestyling and the idea is that he is alone on this decaying spaceship…so the sounds you hear are the sounds of this ship decaying…one of the things he does to pass times on this ship is just rap to himself.”

Jonathan: “If somebody wants to fund it!” (He chuckles) Daveed: “It keeps coming up and I’ve been talking to people, but also none of us are directors.”

Jonathan: “Noise-industrial music and harsher sounds have always appealed to me. It’s not like we set out to try to make normal rap music.” Daveed: “Everything we do we do for a reason. We’re essentially coping artists we like a lot in the style of clipping.”
