FISHING AWARDS 2021 Each year the CYCSA Fishing Association runs a perpetual competition for all Fishing Association members. This gives all fishers the opportunity to submit their best catches for judging no matter when or where they made their catch. It could be your prize catch on your favorite local fishing grounds or from a holiday fishing venture or charter. If you have a catch you would like to submit, what we would like to know is the species, how long it is, weight, where you caught it and on what date. You will also need to provide a photo of you and your fish, preferably on a measure for length verification. This past year we received 11 submissions covering fish species such as King George Whiting, Snapper, Tuna, Cow Fish, Leather Jacket, Mulloway, Barramundi and Spanish Mackerel from locations like Coffin Bay, The Pages Islands, Saunders Bank, Port Vincent, the Northern Territory and Fitzroy Island in Queensland in addition to local Adelaide waters. With our various events being so disrupted during the year due to COVID-19 we eventually got to announce our award winners at the ‘All Associations Christmas Bash’ on Saturday 11 December. Our award winners for 2021 were –• King George Whiting – Adrian Wotton • Snapper – Vladimir Humeniuk • Game Fish (Spanish Mackerel) – Sam Gaylard • Scale Fish (Black Jewfish) – Peter Schembri I have seen some great fishing photos from Club members in recent times and I strongly encourage anyone who has a favorite fish catch to submit an entry into this year’s fishing competition. Entries will close on 31 October.
