I always put myself into the users’ shoes as the users are not like me.

Key Task Flow Home —> add journal —> select photo—> enter thoughts —> click on Liahona icon—> receive Ai powered inspiring words from God in the Book of Mormon —> publish the journal J
Some of the questions that comes to my mind while I am designing: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.
Who are the competitors of the app? Who are the target users of this app? How will the design fit into the current flow of the app? What will these screens look like? How will this be entertaining and engaging? How will this address and solve the user needs?
Important design elements that I pay attention to: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
Consistency User-friendly User- centric Empathy Concise

Feedback on the Liahona Mobile App: A. Home page • • •
• •
I like the minimal design of the home page I like how the user can choose the way wanted to display their journal (3 alternatives) The count of journals of each month seems extra to me o What is the purpose of it? o It could be confusing because I can do 3 journals within the same day, and normally user will think that numbers are referring to x/ 30 or 31 of that months The background wasn’t really showing or customize as there is a white layer in front of it What is a better way to display the journals of each month? o Will the page become longer and longer if there are more journals adding up?
Suggestions: • • •
II.
Remove the numbers of count next to the month Make the white layer in front of the background more transparent Instead of showing all journals on the screens, we can also consider making each month of journals be able to toggle (Add toggle button on the container of each month)

B. Add Journal Page • • • • • • •
Adding a journal is clear and easy to understand The “Liahona” icon is too small and not noticeable The redo and undo arrows are unnecessary as these features are repeated on the keyboard (I am not sure the functions of these arrows on the first time actually) Not sure if the journal is saved or not and there is only a “Back” button How about if I wanted to share the journal with my friends? The Ai powered inspiring words are random or not related to the post Unable to add a journal by choosing the date I want o How about if I wanted to add a journal that I missed?
Suggestions: • • • • • •
Make “Liahona icon larger or move it to the center Remove the redo and undo arrows Add a “save” button to save the journal Add a “share” button for users to share outside of the app or on social media Make the Ai powered inspiring words customize to the key words of the journals Allow users choose the date of journal

C. Calendar Page: • • •
Neat and well-designed I like the interaction of switching between the months Show more details of each journal may help the user review faster
Suggestions: • • •
Consider allowing user to click on the date of the journal and open the journal from there directly Shows title next to the date of the journal Sort the journal by title/date (?) (e.g. A-Z/ Z-A/ 1-31/ 31-1)

D. Search Page: • • •
I like the highlighting text on the journal when searching a keyword (synchronous) I like how the tag of the search allows user to click and find the journal faster No ways to clear search or delete recent search
Suggestions: •
Consider allowing user clear search on each tag to keep the page clean

E. Conclusion/Overall: • • • • • •
Clean and minimal design of user interface design User-friendly and easy to use Some features need to be reconsidered or add/remove Avoid duplicated/unnecessary features Usability testing would help improve the current problems Not only inspiring individually but potentially socially!
Key to success: Make the “Liahona” feature of this app useful and stand out in order to let the user know why it is different from other journal apps J

Feedback on the Liahona Website Reorganized the content (especially the product overview section) o Play around with images/text sizes/font/font face o Lack of focus § focus on one information at one time Move the download section from the bottom to the top Needs higher resolution images (to make it looks professional) Needs to separate product’s mockup that clearly shows how the product/features work Having an interactive demo of the application would be nice
