The extra cellular matrix (ECM) plays and important role in the stem cell niche. In-vitro stem cell cultures have utilized feeder cells and an undefined, animal derived ECM. Current stem cell research needs calls for defined culture conditions, including the use of defined recombinant ECM. Kit Components (Cat# AF-VMB-220): 1. Animal-Free Human Vitronectin Matrix 2. Animal-Free Vitronectin Matrix Buffer (PBS + Kolliphor P 188) for Vitronectin Matrix reconstitution and cell plate/dish dilutions. Kolliphor P 188 is a solubilizer that acts as a dispersing and wetting agent for optimal coating of cell culture vessels with vitronectin. The kit allows the coating of 100 wells of 6-wells plates with vitronectin.
