We can’t wait to start all of our fun key club events and get to know each other at the socials! Just as a reminder, all membership forms are due on October 7th as well as Freshman Rep Applications! Make sure to turn them into Mrs. Escobar's room (2405)! A lot of events have been posted on google classroom so make sure to be signing up for them so you don’t have to worry about finishing all your hours at the end of the semester!

A Letter from your LTG Hey 3N! Last month was the first month that we got ALL REPORTS AND NEWSLETTERS IN ON TIME! This is HUGE for us, and we need to keep pushing the needle to maintain this excellence! Our month was one of the best so far, and the first real month of school is finally done. We are doing better than I could have imagined at the beginning of my term, and now I'm proposing a challenge. I am going to start a division-wide fundraiser for Trick or Treat for UNICEF this month, and if we can raise $2500 as a division, I promise to let y'all shave my head at the November DCM. My hair means a lot to me, but I think it’s an amazing cause that’s worth losing it for :) this month, I want you all to challenge yourselves to write a note to a special custodian, teacher, or administrator that usually wouldn’t receive something like this. They are the ones that allow us to do the amazing things we are privileged to do, and they deserve recognition. Keep serving, making a difference, and changing the world 3N!

Yours in Service, Raj Patel

Our september meetings september 09 and 23

In order to have a great first meeting, all of our reps and officers came prepared with a welcoming attitude and, of course, lots of food! We were able to successfully hold two general meetings at which our President, Aarthi Annamalai, and our Vice President, Ryan Parappuram, introduced the objectives and responsibilities of Key Club to our new members. At our second meeting of the year, we announced new positions available to our freshman class and ended our meeting with our first service project! Each member created inspirational and decorative pocket bookmarks to distribute within the community. We hope to make our future meetings just as welcoming and fun to facilitate the ideas and goals of Key Club!

Key Clubber of the Month

Being a part of Key Club has allowed me to understand the importance and value of camaraderie and true service to the community. Key Club has granted me the opportunities to meet new people with similar interests and broaden my horizons. This incredible organization has provided me with the necessary resources to expand my outreach in the community and positively influence my surrounding environment. Service is a simple yet impactful gesture and Key Club has emboldened my desire to make a difference in the world. Puja Satish

using platforms for progress Puja Satish Archit Junnarkar and Puja Satish making Key Club posters for the first meeting of the year. Key Club is a huge organization that gains a large number of members through the use of social media, including platforms such as: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. We make it a priority to reach out to individuals in the community in a fun and effective way in order to grow as an organization and incorporate new and innovative ideas. Social media has played a big role in the growth of this club and has allowed us to successfully communicate with our members. We use a Facebook page in order to update all our members on new and upcoming events such as drives, school tournaments, meetings, and much more. Our members are able to access all this information on the Facebook page along with links to the Key Club website where sign ups and forms are readily available. Key Club officers makes sure to post pictures of students at events in order to promote our club to other individuals interested in joining. Our website and Facebook page are easy to use making Key Club the number one club at Cy-Woods. Incoming freshman are also able to understand the purpose of Key Club and the importance of service. In addition, we have an officers and representatives’ group chat to make sure the Key Club leaders are provided with the correct information to supply the members. We have meetings quite frequently to stay up to date throughout the year and inform the members of the upcoming agenda. Social media is a huge factor in Key Club’s success as it not only helps to promote the club but also to constantly inform students of any changes in an organized manner. Communication will not only help encourage more students to complete the tasks required by the club but more importantly will build stronger and more confident leaders within the organization. Clear communication will foster a confidence within officers and club representatives and will encourage them to inspire others with their positive ideals. By simply improving the communication and closing the gap between officers, and members, we are a creating a more united and connected organization. Unity will only benefit the club, long term, as a close knit organization will be more motivated to help the community and fulfill the goals of Key Club.

10

Social media is an amazing tool that allows Key Club to stay in touch with members, officers, representatives, and other people of the community. Whether it is through the use of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, our website, or any other social media platform, Key Club is able to obtain success and give back to the community through volunteering and donations.

empowering the leaders of tomorrow Kiran Khan

A Key Club member chalking inspirational messages at Robison Elementary in preparation for the first day of school. Key Club is more than a high school organization, it can easily be depicted as a momentous success in the lives of many. Key Club has made a positive impact in my life through its dedication to help the community and by empowering the leaders of tomorrow. Through a message of service, Key Club has the ability to touch the hearts of those who are often forgotten by society. For example, one of Cypress Woods’ Key Club’s many service projects entailed a time for young high school students to take up responsibility in aiding their community- specifically the homeless. Several people signed up to donate supplies such as toothpaste, soap, toothbrushes, tissues, etc. The members arrived to school early and stayed after their dismissal time on order to assemble brown paper bags filled to the brim with these basic necessities. These bags were then delivered to homeless shelters all around the area. Through experiences such as this, I am able to grow as a person by increasing my love for the community and by realizing my responsibility to aid others in times of need despite relatively small significance in number- after all, I am only one person, but I can still make big changes. Secondly, Key Club has empowered me to reach out first. As a child, I was tentative to help others even if I was surrounded by multiple opportunities. However, Key Club has taught me to not judge a book by its cover. There are many people in the world who are in desperate need of aid, but they remain silent with their pleas in their eyes. If I maintain the courage to take a step forward, to reach out first, and to come forth with confidence, the number of people I will be able to have an impact on will only augment exponentially! For example, at my neighborhood Easter get-together, the ones on charge seems frazzled due to the hectic chaos of the party. Due to my involvement in Key Club, I realized a need for help which is why I made the choice to organize small events to keep the young kids busy. To concatenate, Key Club has inspired me to be the first to reach out and make an effort to dedicate more of my time out of my busy schedule to help in the community. Key Club has positively impacted me in so many ways which is the reason I desire to encourage others to join this wonderful club.
