A letter letter from from your your A President President Hello Key Clubbers! This past month so much has happened. First off, all membership forms were due and t-shirts have been ordered! You’ll be receiving them at the beginning of December!!Second, the reps and officers attended the annual regional training conference. Here, everyone was given the chance to learn more about the divisional affairs and each officer was given a thorough instruction of their job description. Lastly, our club took part in the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF project this year! We raised a lot of money and can’t wait to see how much funds we raise from the upcoming dodgeball tournament! Our next meeting will be on November 4th! I hope to see you there! Yours in Service, Aarthi Annamalai

A Letter Letter from from your your LTG LTG A Hey 3N! It's almost surreal to me that it has been 6 months since I sent out my first email introducing myself to you all. How we have grown, adapted, overcome, and dominated is astounding to me. Little did I know that halfway through my term, we would still be a mean volunteering machine! The presidents have been telling me about the amazing things that each club is doing, and I am extremely proud of all of you. If you remember my last update, or the last time we spoke at our RTC, I think you will recall Operation Barbershop. I promised that if we raised $5,000 as a division, I would shave my head at the next DCM. Unfortunately, we came up about $2,000 short. However, I understand that everyone is focusing on getting dues and members in right now, so I'll offer this as another opportunity. If we as a division raise $10,000 (including the funds raised in October) before Christmas, I PROMISE that I will shave my head. This will definitely be your last opportunity to bring public humiliation upon me, so plan accordingly. With that in mind, keep striving for greatness. Keep the pedal to the floor, and make the most out of these next 6 months. If you are interested in running for LTG, please contact me at rajpatelkci@gmail.com. Thank you guys so much for doing everything you do, and let's make this month the greatest in the history of the division. Yours in Service, Raj Patel

October Service Project
With Halloween fast approaching, our outstanding Cy Woods Key Clubbers came together to dress up and decorate some lollipops! Prepped with a variety of markers, yarn, and a positive attitude, our members drew on various faces onto a kleenex which encompassed each lollipop. Once completed, we packaged our spooky and fun lollipops to be sent to the nearby Texas Children's hospital with the intention of bringing smiles and laughter into the lives of those who could not spend this Halloween going door to door.

Key Clubber Clubber of of the the Key Month Month
Key Club plays a huge role in my day to day life. It gives me opportunities to lead and serve my community to help it grow, while also helping me grow as well. I have met so many amazing people through Key Club that share the same values and we help build each other up through our service. Key Club has also given me the opportunity to help the middle schoolers with Builders Club. Through this leadership role, I can help these future Key Clubbers build essential life skills and be there for them during their time in middle school. I am very happy to be Key Clubber of the month and to continue to grow and lead in service. -Bianca Ortega

One Club, One Huge Impact Key Club members completing the October service project during the morning meeting. - Katie Phan
I believe that Key Club brings out the good in everyone. It’s a club that sponsors joy and happiness in not just volunteers, but the people volunteers help. I know Key Club is not like other extracurricular activities like band, orchestra, or art, but it requires just as much work. It inspires me to get out of bed and do something with my life no matter how big or small. Just washing windows or mopping floors at a local food bank could help someone. Key Club has taught me to be grateful for the things I have and for the things I could give. I think that selflessness is the most admirable quality in someone. I’ve been taught to treat everyone I meet and everyone that comes in and out of my life with kindness. My dad would always tell me “kindness is the cure to everything”. Key club has helped me nurture that skill and spread it to other people. Volunteering is a part of my everyday life in that it helps me become a better person. Though doing concessions and managing elementary school booths are not the most life fulfilling, it still helps the community. You could be helping a busy single mom working a full-time job and trying to be a part of her child’s school. Bringing joy and love in the community is the key. Key Club has also impacted my teamwork skills, as well as leadership skills. I’ve always been the type of person to just work alone and not depend on other people because I always thought they’d let me down. I learned to trust other people and that they are capable of following through. As a child, I was painfully shy and speaking to people terrified me. As I got older, I felt like I went into a shell again and then I joined Key Club. It was this massive club with so many people in the room. I’ve met some of my best friends today and it’s all thanks to Key Club. I would work with these people for 25 service hours a semester and it brought me closer to them. Day to day, I think about how my life would be so different without my friends who I just made in Key Club. They all have different personalities, but somehow they’re all the same. They’re kind, smart, funny, and possibly the future leaders of tomorrow. Just waking up early and getting out of bed is a struggle for me personally. The thought of volunteering makes me excited to start the day. Although early morning soccer concessions aren't my favorite, I get to meet so many different people. I’ve heard several accents and seen different nationalities all the time. Helping out at dog shelters are probably my favorite thing to do. Just seeing dogs makes me so happy and it reminds me how lucky I am to be able to volunteer to help these adorable animals. Key Club will continue to inspire me and tell me to always choose joy and happiness over selfish acts.

Library Craft Prep Children participating in various computer activities with the guidance of Key Club members at Lone Star Library. - Audrey Knoll
I have participated in several service events since the beginning of the school year, but my favorite so far is definitely Library Craft Prep at Lonestar. I loved participating in this event because it was fun and rewarding, without being strenuous and complicated. This event is easy to engage in because it is simple and enjoyable. The reason that I chose to become involved in this event is because one of my friends had participated in the event in the past and had nothing but wonderful things to say about it. She could not stop talking about how she loved interacting with the kids and how it “de-stressed” her to organize and regulate the library, so I decided I should give it a try. A couple of my friends and I arrived at Lonestar and were immediately given assignments to complete. The first of which was to decorate paper butterflies that were later going to be used for kids to hang up on the walls. The second activity was to wrap cardboard rolls with aluminum foil for a craft the following week. The third activity was to take the plastic wrapping off of stamps and place them in plastic bags for little kids to use. These activities were very calm and relaxing, which was nice after a long day of school. One of the benefits of these activities was that I could talk with others and form relationships with people that had the same interests as I did. It was nice to make new friends while still being productive. After preparing the crafts for the kids, we were given a list of books that hadn’t been checked out in over two years that we needed to pull from the shelves so that their condition could be checked. Then we got a cart and went to work. We matched the books on the list to books on the shelf, evaluated their status, and placed them on the cart. When we finished, we brought the cart to the library workers and started organizing the books, making sure they were pulled forward and in the correct order. I enjoyed this because it was very satisfying to ensure that everything was in order and was ready for the next day. Another part of this event was interacting with the little kids that were enjoying their time at the library. Whether it was sitting down with them, reading a book to them, playing a game, coloring, or just simply checking up on them, it was fun to collaborate with the little kids and see them smile.
