Hey key clubbers! This was another great month of volunteering, so keep up the great passion for helping our home, school, and community! Because the month is coming to an end, I am looking forward for the month of March! I definitely know the next month will be another great quality month of key club work and that’s what makes our club so great! Our officer interviews will be sent out next week and the results will be announced at the March 16th meeting. I look forward to getting to know all of you and passing on the torch to the next set of officers. If you have any questions, please email the gmail! Yours in Service, Aarthi Annamalai

Key Clubbers attending at a district wide RCT
Mahatma Gandhi once said, “The future depends on what you do today.” You can’t change the future, but you can change how you view your future. The future for me is unknown, I don’t have a set plan for what I am going to do after high school, but I do know everything I do now influences my endeavors and how I will act in the future. Key Club is such a big part of my life now and it has influenced me greatly and taught me many lessons, I know I will remember those influences and lessons in the future. More specifically Key Club has taught me the importance of working together and the importance of taking action We recently took on our group LEDCON projects, and I was not a representative of Key Club last year, but I know the significance of these LEDCON projects. LEDCON projects are a perfect example of how Key Club promotes teamwork and partnership. These projects can only look good and be completed in time when everyone collaborates to complete it. Working well together is a life skill necessary everywhere and anywhere, and with the help of Key Club I have learned how to team up and complete a task. Taking action has always been a priority for Key Club, in fact the club is very much based on the principle of leadership. Through Key Club I have realized how taking action can change everything. Going to events in the community is already a way of taking action, working to help the community is a way of showing leadership and taking action. Taking action can better the lives of others, even something small can better the lives of others, for example toy drives or food drives. Food and toy drives are easy ways to take action, by donating what you already have you’re helping others out in an easy way. Taking action in Key Club now has shown me how I can change the lives of others, and I will take action in the future. Taking action and working together has always been an important part of my life, but with Key Club I have fully realized the consequence these two things can have. Although the future is unknown, the one thing I do know is that Key Club has taught me many lessons and skills, many of which will be used in my future.

Key Club Benefits Dorina Balogh
During the Bingo Night volunteering event, members of Key Club had to behave like leaders and role models in front of the elementary school
As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “Life is a journey, not a destination. As a part of Key Club, there are a lot of new qualities and goals that I gained in addition to the volunteering experience. This journey that I have been able to partake in has not only shaped my life into what it is today, but will also present many opportunities for the future. I am so grateful for the role Key Club has played in my many achievements, as well as my future accomplishments! The greatest thing that I learned as a part of Key Club that will benefit me in the future is how to be leader in the community. For example, I learned this through service at a multitude of events. At the Cy-Woods High School Theatre and Debate Tournament, I worked as a leader when I judged the performances of middle school students. I was the oldest person in a room full of young students, so they had to listen to and respect me. I felt like I had to take initiative and make sure that they knew what to do. I gave a speech of instructions at the beginning and told the students how I was going to give hand signals, time them and judge their piece. The students had to listen to my instructions and respect me since I was the only leader in the room. This service event in my community taught me the important qualities that a leader has to portray and how to demonstrate them efficiently. This important life skill that I have learned will most likely benefit me greatly in the future. It will provide me with club positions in high school, it will assist me when applying for college, and even job opportunities, since the importance of a leader is evident in any industry. Also, in Key Club there are a variety of positions offered to run for so each person can have the opportunity to create a more direct impact on Key Club. With so many officer positions like historian, secretary, vice president or event coordinator, you have only a small job to complete, but it can benefit you in so many ways. You can make new friends, directly impact the club through your actions, you can write it on your college resume as a leadership position, and gain new qualities like cooperation, organization and responsibility.
09
In addition, I believe that Key Club will benefit me in the future by being something I can write on future resumes and applications. Since Key Club is known to be a very prestigious club that is well known internationally, being able to state that I was a part of it, as well as the fact that I was a representative of it is looked upon very positively by interviewers and colleges. All in all, I believe that my role in Key Club so far and for the remainder of high school is a factor that will benefit me in a positive way in the future.
key clubber of the month
Ever since I joined Key Club my freshman year of high school, it has had a distinctive role in the development of my character, as well as a large impact on some of my most memorable experiences. By joining a club that is so well known around the country, and internationally, it motivated me to work even harder to gain a leadership position. Ever since I’ve been in the representative position, I have gained new qualities that will stick with me for the rest of my life, such as being passionate, approachable, organized, trustworthy, and inputting 110% effort into every activity I do. In addition, when completing my service hours through Key Club, I have witnessed beautiful acts of kindness that remind me how important it is to help out your neighbors and community. Overall, Key Club is not only a fun, but also helpful club that can impact our future lives through new memories and characteristics. I’m so thankful that I found such an enjoyable club to join that has changed my entire high school experience, and I still have a couple more years of it to savor!
