Danielle has over 20 years of experience in community activism, government relations and campaign logistics. She executes and enhances the strategic goals of her clients while meeting their civic needs. She has a proven track record of exceptional outcomes in deadline-driven operations, excellence in public/government affairs, strategic marketing communication, conflict resolution, fundraising, project management and community outreach initiatives. Her reach extends to local, county, state and federal levels of government with prominent organizations and clientele such as, Obama for America (Houston), Sheila Jackson Lee for Congress Campaign (14 years), Annise Parker for Mayor, and Ron Kirk for Senate Campaign, to name a few. She holds a Bachelors in Communications from the University of Texas at Arlington with Cum Laude honors, and an Executive MBA from Texas Woman's University. A native Houstonian and the daughter to parents raised in the segregated south, a U.S. Navy Veteran and a Women-Owned Small Business Owner/Entrepreneur, the characteristics of strength, service, leadership and hard work were instilled in her at a young age. The spiritual foundation they taught their children and their sacrifice for family is the centerpiece of her core values for service that reigns supreme in her life choices. In her professional career, she has served as a licensed Texas Real Estate Professional for the past 15 years at Womack Development & Investment Realtors. Through real estate, she has served as the project manager and/or sales consultant for affordable housing developments that placed over 100 families in newly constructed single-family properties, with a 0% foreclosure rating. She also assisted in the disaster recovery efforts that focused on the rebuilding and/or remodeling the homes of many Senior citizens throughout Houston. She was also an active part of a plethora of community development projects, funded from both the private and public sector, that removed blight and created beautification concepts in spaces that were historically underserved. Danielle is moving from grassroots to the front lines in a fight to preserve the historical legacy of District 147! Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s words resonate with her when he said, "injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." As one of Houston's most diverse districts, she seeks to represent its people of all backgrounds, race, age, gender, and socio-economic status. She will advocate for the needs of District 147's community in Austin, resulting in collaborative solutions for the community that she loves, as this District is not only where she lives; it is also where she works, where she worships and where she is serving on a daily basis. In her spare time, she enjoys the activities of golfing, swing-out dancing, traveling, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. She is the devoted wife to Corey Bess, a Sr. Marketing Professional in the energy sector, an active member in their church, and a dedicated member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
