Glenda Demas, a native Houstonian, graduate of Prairie View A&M with a M.S.in Counseling Education. As seen on the Isiah Factor Uncensored as a Mental Health Expert. Glenda is currently enrolled at North Central University in pursuit of her PhD in Health Psychology. Glenda Demas currently serves as a Board of Director for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Greater Houston, and is currently in Year four of her Appointment. Glenda Demas is a member of American Counseling Association, American Mental Health Association, Houston Licensed Professional Counselors Association, Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Inc. In 2018, Glenda began servicing the community as a Mental Health Clinician with Pearls of Change Wellness LLC. She is an Advanced Clinical Trauma Practitioner specializing in Anxiety, Trauma and Stress-Related Disorders, Conflict Resolution, Crisis Intervention, and Behavioral Health and Anger Management. Having been in private practice for six years and has serviced over 1500 individuals within her offices located in Texas and Georgia Glenda has plans of expanding to Louisiana, Florida, and California within the next three years. Glenda's passion for Mental Health Advocacy resulted in being recognized as one of the top five Mental Health Clinicians in the state of Texas by Cigna in 2020. Glenda is currently one of two Nationally Certified Emergency Responder Clinicians in Texas. In 2020, she founded MyND Your Mental Foundation a non-profit organization established to promote education, advocacy, and provide research for mental health, especially among children, and adolescents. During the onset of Covid-19, Glenda stood on the front lines as a resource by offering weekly webinars covering Systemic Racism, Creating Mental Balance, and Navigating through Trauma through her foundation. Glenda was chosen as the Mental Health Clinician to represent Texas by the Boris L. Henson Foundation founded by Taraji P. Henson "Let’s Talk" free virtual therapy campaign. In 2021, Glenda formed Pearls of Change Realty Group with plans to provide future affordable housing for Veterans with identifiable and diagnosed mental health conditions. In 2021, Glenda was recognized as one of 30 Influential Women of Houston. Glenda's overall goal is to expand her current experience, through education and research. In addition, she will continue to aid individuals from various socioeconomic backgrounds in understanding the importance of removing the stigma surrounding the topic of mental health.
