2023 TOP P&E has an event every Spring Break called the Spring-Teen Self-Empowerment Camp. This camp is a one-to-two-day event that teaches life skill basics and the importance of appearance, hygiene, selfrespect, self-love, values, God, credit, life goals and other important aspects of life. Every year the feedback from the teens and parents has been extremely positive.

0riginally from Galveston, Verneashia Allen moved to Houston 18 years ago in search of a better life for her family.

Allen, a serial entrepreneur, founded Spoiled Rotten Beauty Bar in 2014. The company is a full service, commission-based salon specializing in all things’ hair, makeup, eyelash extensions, facials, body contouring and much more. In conjunction with her beauty bar, Allen opened a virgin hair company, Spoiled Rotten Luxury Locs, in 2015.

In 2016, Allen founded G.L.O.W. (Growing. Learning. Winning. Overcoming), a nonprofit for teen girls ages 13-18. G.L.O.W.

In 2021, Allen was offered the opportunity to be on the OWN hit reality show “Ready to Love” Season 3 – Houston. The show, which explores the dating world of successful black men and women, is produced by blockbuster producer, Will Packer and hosted by Thomas “Nephew

Tommy” Miles. Allen says, “Being on television was one of the greatest experiences of my life, because it gave me an opportunity to see myself outside of myself... something a lot of people aren’t privileged to do. Although I didn’t find love on the show, I was a fan favorite and made some great friendships to last me a lifetime.”

Since the show, Allen wrote a book entitled “40 and Still Unmarried, Whew Chile What’s Wrong with Her?” about being a woman over 40 and still unmarried. The book is based around the false narrative that because a woman is up in age and unmarried something must be “wrong with her,” which isn’t true. The book is Allen’s memoir and elaborates more on her story and love life and why she is still single and will not settle. Be on the lookout for a release later this year.

Allen is currently pursuing her Texas real estate license to work in commercial real estate. She also plans on expanding her Spoiled Rotten brand by creating a CBD product line for women and men, debuting this summer. Lastly, but certainly not least, Allen’s YouTube channel will go live and talk more about dating in your 40s and more to help women of a certain age be more secure with trusting the process of finding love.

She ends by saying, “I’m a woman of many hats, but I’m mostly proud of being a mom to three awesome daughters who I wouldn’t trade for the world! I’m grateful for it all.”

Being a former elementary school teacher, I wanted to find a way to give back to kids and help advance their futures with my bilingual learning Cubby Love Bears. I wanted to created something that was all about empowering kids because my true heart bonds with kids. The saying is, if babies and kids gravitate to you as an adult there’s a heart for them that they instantly connect to and I have always had this connection with kids. I wanted a brand that makes them happy and feel loved. So, this was the main reason I created my business Cubby Love Bears. My daughter as the Co-CEO, helps me pursue the furthering of the business because I see how much she enjoys working alongside mommy.

My thought process behind starting my own business was, I wanted something that I could say it was my very own and something I could actually see the fruits of my labor. The single most important decision made that contributed to my success, with tears in my eyes many days and fear in my heart many times, I vowed to myself to never give up. I know I have so many people looking to me to display faith, strength and God works. Therefore, I have to stay steadfast through the process so that success of believing in God and myself is shown. But most importantly, my daughter contributes to a lot of not only my success but the many decisions I make in my life.
